Title: hmmmm...
Post by: fatty fat fat on June 17, 2007, 01:42:19 PM
Prince = Gary Barnett?

1)Tough OOC's
2)Wins the close games
3)Teams aren't statistically dominating, but they do win. When we lose, we lose bad
4)Arrogant SOB
5)Doesn't care much for OOC games, goal is simply to make CCG
6)Pretty similar offensive schemes
7)Jeremy Bloom

Pretty good comparison? And Barnett was the ultimate anti-snyder, maybe this is why our white male fanbase hates Prince?

I'll definitely take it minus his fallout.

Didn't Barnett look down on programs that recruited JUCO players? I think that was one of his major points against Snyder.

Prince doesn't seem to mind recruiting out of those programs, just maybe not as much as Snyder.

Barney would've sucked sweaty nuts to get all jucos admitted to CU, but the CU admin wanted to pretend it is Stanford or something.

After the first few weeks of watching ksu football last year that comparison is exactly what i was thinking.  The cocky sob didnt come out till later in the year and the new scheduling style.....i'll take the run cu had with barnett.

Sign me up for Ron Barnett.  The flat out rage that other team's fans would have towards us because of Ron Barnett would be worth it.

&*$@!, let's just hire gary.

He's got to be tired of arguing with that pale, greek guy on fox sports.  And if we hired freaking Bob Huggins, why couldn't we hire Gary?

I'd be down.  It'd almost piss of our aging white fans more than Ronald does.

I'd take Barnett.  Imagine what he could do with jucos.

If Prince can give us as dominant a running game as CU had in the last few years with Barnett, I'd take it.

I loved beating Barnett's teams more than Solich's back in the day....but results are results...and '01, '02, and '04...CU was the North Champ while we sat home. 'Dems the facts.

They booted Gary..and look what happened. They were one of the worst teams among all BCS conferences last year..no question.

Bernard Jackson reminded me of Eazy-E with that afro-mullet.

In terms of top level success, Barnett accomplished more than Snyder.

1 title and 4 North championships vs. 1 title and 3 Norths for Bill.

What kind of team did Barnett inherit in comparison to Snyder?

KSU had more sustained success.
CU had more "top level" success.

I'm conflicted in which i'd rather have.  It sucks to have bad seasons.

I'd rather have sustained success.   The difference between Snyder and Barnett, essentially, was a missed block by our fullback and pulling guard on a fourth down call near the endzone in '02.

You can't say the winner of the race is better if he had a huge head start. Think about it for a minute.

Maybe not better.  But faster, for sure.

Barnett started at CU in 1999.  CU's prior 2 seasons were 5-6 and 8-4....KSU was 11-1 and 11-2 prior to '99.  We were probably ahead or at a minimum equal to CU at that point in time.

If you're comparing Barnett's tenure to Snyder's years while Snyder was there (99-05), you could say that Snyder had a huge head start (see zacker's post).  Seriously, Barnett got 4 North titles in 7 seasons.  That is ridiculously good.

No.
