What if K-State goes on to beat TAMU in the Big 12 Champ. game in 98. Then we go on to the National Championship game and beat Tennessee. Think if that would have all happened, where would K-State be today. I thought about this when talking to a friend that went to KSU during that run through the late 90's early 00's. He thought if we would have beat A&M we would have been a Top 10 team for the next 10 years.

Tell that to Miami and Flordia State.
The real what if should be what if Snyder hired some competent assistant coaches in his last batch rather than the ones he did.

I have thought about this every day. Seeing the season we had in 99 as well I think KSU would have put it together. I think we would had the recruits to put together 2003 as well. If one thing that has hurt us and continue to hurts us is quality depth on D. I think we would have gained that and built a top 10 to top 5 dynasty. I also wonder as well if Stoops would have been able to raid as many coaches as he did. I know some say it was a done deal the week before the game but I bet Snyder could have been able to keep a few more members of that staff.

Vince Young chooses KSU. Bill is still coaching, with better assistant coaches. Ron Prince is the head coach of a MAC school.

Yeah pretty much would have changed the whole complexion of the whole colleg football landscape.

this is NOT the ULTIMATE what-if. That would be something more along the lines of "what if Adam and Eve hadn't tasted the apple?" or "what if hot pockets had never been invented?"
Your what-if doesn't even make the top 10. It is in NO WAY ultimate.

GOD DAMNIT GUYS SHUT THE &@#% UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

What if K-State beat the greatest college football team of all time in the Big XII Championship...oh yeah, they did.
There, that makes me feel a little better.

They weren't the best team of all time. No way in hell.

Stop it you silly goose! :kugayfight:

It would have definitely changed the outlook. At least ku fans wouldn't be able to point out our lack of national championships in any sport. However, that was nine years ago. The what-ifs we should be focusing on is the what-if Arthur Brown came to K-State.

That's just what everyone was saying before the Cats spanked 'em.
