Translation: "Hey, he could get arrested a third time and still be back for the USC game! I mean, for f**k sakes, Lawrence Phillips got to play why shouldn't Purify?!"

NU = going back to win at all costs.

purify won't be back for usc. funny to see you guys talking like he is easy on players that don't follow rules after he has kicked off more than one starter.
-
number of chances = number of stars
purify still has two more chances
-
If Purify is allowed back on the team: Purify=LP. If either guy was a backup center they would have been gone the first time they punched a girl in the face. NU has a three strike rule for beating young ladys if you are a starter at a skill position.
-
To the NU dorks..
Thomas Claytong (who stinks horribly compared to Purify)...got into it with a parking attendant and had to sit out two games in two different seasons..
Purify beats up a girl, shoves a guy over a table, then gets DUI DURING HIS DIVERSION and hasn't missed a snap..
and he won't miss one this year either. 20 bucks says I'm dead on.

How can he miss any snaps considering the season hasn't started?

that is ksu fan genuis right there. hasn't missed a snap, in june. lol
as for beating up a girl, he never did, he never even hit her. The cops didn't interview witnesses when they arrested him, just the guy he got in a fight with and his girl. Their story turned out to be mostly bogus. The DA decided after she talked to witnesses that most of the charges were never going to stick and offered him diversion. Ask any lawyer they will tell you that people who are 24 years old, fight with cops, beat up a woman and beat up a man in a bar do not get diversion.
Not sure what callahan is supposed to do with the guy. He isn't on the team, he will have alot of work to do to get back on the team. Not allowed to work out with the team, not allowed to run routes or do anything with the team. I don't see any reason to destroy a mans entire future for a dui that if you or I got one, would likely get a night in jail and a big ticket and that would be it.
I remember bill snyder letting a guy play in a bowl game just after he got a dui. That guy didn't even get a one game suspension, yet you guys are hollering ifg purify isn't gone for an entire season?

He didn't hit her. He slapped her. :ku:
And da bitch deserved it, dammit!
-
What's this whole "getting diversion" thing? I've never heard of it..
:peek:

diversion is basically the fancy term for first offenders program. He would plead guilty to some chicken crap charge. then go on probation. If he completes his probatation without doing something like, say get a dui or commit another crime then his record is cleaned like he never commited a crime in the first place. this is usually given out ot very young adults like 18-20 and to very minor offenses, maybe shoplifting, misdeamonor assault. The story the da got from the 2 combantants of purify were very different than the stories she got from the witnesses.
-
Callahan is handling this fine. There is nothing to bash him for here yet. Purify is suspended, and Callahan is just trying to get him some help.
It's completely appropriate.
-
No offense, but Purify should not play the 2007 season. Redshirt him and bring him back for 2008. As of now, the guy is a thug.

the guy is a thug.
This has all the makings of LP2. Stay Tuned.

No offense taken. I don't feel sorry for Purify here because he made his own problems and getting a DUI while you are applying for diversion is unbelievably stupid. I hope whatever he was drinking was good because it probably cost him a lot of money.
I'm not counting on him being there this season. At this point I would rather go forward with our other receivers than mess around with him. To me, if you are awaiting trial for a bar fight and you are dumb enough to get a DUI, you really don't deserve to be on the team.
I don't have any problem with how Callahan has handled this thus far, however. Purify is suspended and they are just trying to get him some help.

I know what a diversion is. I was mildly entertained by your failure to use the noun correctly. You need an article (a) in front of the word diversion when referencing it in the way that you were.

Cally's motto:
If you're gonna get arrested for some stupid crap...make sure you do it in June so we can punish you in July and August and have you ready for the home opener.

That's probably every coach's preference, ass.
