They do have to draft the best guy and I'm sure GMDM knows that having worked for the Braves. I would expect them to take either Matt Wieters or David Price.

They have to get Brown, Gathright, Bannister, German, Shealy up here and stick with 'em. Add them in with Gil Meche, Mark Teahen, Joakim Soria, John Buck and Tony Peña Jr. and we're starting to have something to build on.

We've got to get some guys out of here as well. Mike Sweeney, Zack Greinke, Odalis Perez, Octavio Dotel and Mark Grudzielanek have got to go! Open the trade gates and lets see what we can get!

Pena wasn't fired -- he ran off after a series in Toronto. It was later found out he was due in court the following week at his neighbor's divorce hearing (for sleeping w/ his neighbor's wife). He avoided KC to avoid having to testify.

I understood the rationale for him starting the season in the bigs -- "We want to put the best team possible on the field", but he's clearly not ready to be there.
