oh, Arthur, you grew up watching KSU football in its greatness, now you can have a large role in helping restore it to where it should be.

seriously, how scary is that LB group?

Campbell was consensu all-Big 12 as a sophomore.
Walker played as a true frosh under Snyder(rarity), started as a soph and big time hitter
Arthur is Army All-American 5 star LB scary mother f-er
Patterson is Army All-American 5 star LB scary mother f-er

best LB group in the nation.

Don't F it up Arthur, don't F it up.

I'd like a solid gold toilet, but some things just aren't going to happen.  Like A. Brown choosing KSU and Patterson every qualifying.

Campbell
Walker

First off, Patterson is going to qualify. Secondly, like always, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Zacker, a word of advice:  Don't mess with GPC West and their thouroughly gay daydreams.  This kind of crap is somehow interwoven into the collective self-esteem of GPC West and, as such, causes them to be completely blind to reality.

I consider powertardish behavior to be more of the "Is the game on TV?" variety.

Drooling over recruits is kind of a ksufans.com thing only.  For your typical "'tard", "STARS DON'T MATTER!  TERRENCE NELSON!"

Fantards?

Well, I have to admit that I'm a bit out of the loop.  I had a subscription to GPC five years ago and, at that time, they loved referring to themselves as the recruiting "freaks" and masturbated incessantly to any and all possible football commits - much like our little crew here, just a lot less discriminating.

I think it's changed.  I don't really visit either.  I had a sub during the Huggins hiring, and I remember a lot more general ignorance than FREAK-talk.

Another defining characteristic back then was unapologetic, blind homerism.  Other than losses, there was never a bad outcome.  Everyting was all a part of Snyder's perfect plan.  A great example is when Hatter claimed that John Randle didn't have and wasn't going to get an offer from KSU.  This came after he committed to ku, of course.  Jeremy Crabtree then made a somewhat rare appearance because he felt obliged to state that Randle did indeed have an offer from KSU and that Snyder badly wanted him.  I'm not trying to pick on Hatter (too much), but that whole scene was just messed up.

I think that left with Snyder.  'Tards will question anything Prince does that isn't exactly what Snyder would do.  Look at things like scheduling, shotgun, QB run game, QB sneak, etc.

(I don't consider Hatter a 'Tard at all.  He's his own creature.)
Title: Re: sign Arthur and 2008 LB's..

chum, those are good "tard" characteristics.  However, "ksufans East" has changed quite a bit the last year or so after a ton of people signed on during the coaching changes.  Its really a whole different monster than it was 5 years ago.  The "FREAK" stuff has definately died down, and if anything its just as or more prevalent here as it is there.  Still plenty of homerism (of which I'll admit I lean) but there is also plenty of the opposite there now.  In fact, it drives the "true homers" nuts and some are even leaving b/c of it, or at least they claim they are.

The whole GPC thing is fascinating.  It sounds like you have something like the KSU homers and the Snyder homers.  Each makes perfect sense.  The people who have moved on from thinking that Snyder could do no wrong are now the type of homer that is irrationally pro-KSU and the people who haven't are now the type of homer that is irrationally pro-KSU except when they think what KSU is doing conflicts with what Snyder would have done.  They're all still homers.  They just have different natures.

Because we believe that it's more likely than not that A. Brown ends up somewhere other than KSU, we are negative.   This is a defining characteristic of powertards.  Prince has gotten one elite-ish player in each of his classes (Freeman, Lamark), so hopefully somehow that ends up being A. Brown, but if you look at who he went up against to get those players, it is nowhere close to what he's going up against to get A. Brown or even Harper.

Brown doesn't care about playing for Prince or Snyder. He wants to be a Wildcat!

on the false front i was speaking of zackers "patterson will not qualify."

on the negative there is a difference b/t probably and the affirmative statements that A. Brown WILL not come to KSU.

Regardless of who you look at I don't think anybody sits 50% or better with A. Brown so the "more likely won't commit here" statement would apply to any/all schools involved.

i stated yesterday that i thought KSU stood even with ou at about 30% likelihood of a commit with any of four other big names having 10% each.

now while that is a positive outlook (we have as good a chance as anyone) it is not stating that he is most likely (51% or better) going to commit to KSU.

it would (along with ou) represent a plurality

Arthur has actually been on the K-State campus, no his own accord no less.  Young never visited, nor really came close.  He did say he might visit K-State, but that never happened.  I'm not sure where the "we were really close to getting Young" stuff came from in the first place.  Especially the talk that he might make a signing day switch after never setting foot on campus.  Young was a great example of fans hyping his interest in K-State much more than it is.  I'm not sure we're doing the same with Arthur, and he has at least shown some consistent interest in K-State.

Those are great points.  And it's an excellent serious response, really.  But how's the Rome clone style shtick?  I think it's totally lame.  I don't listen to his show, but everytime I hear it I think, "they're still doing that?"  On a related note, wolf shirt:  still funny or getting old?

Jim Rome and Colin Cowherd are the 2 biggest douches on the planet.

EDIT:  Also, Dan Patrick and Keith Olberman aren't far behind.

Add Bill Self to that list and it's complete! LMAO!

Rome was going on for 30+ minutes about the coach who emailed porn to his boss.

I was in total LMAO state.

HIs rants like that are best.

His stuff about KSU's plane backing into another plane in 98 was pretty funny, IMO.

Let me guess, about 20 of those minutes were total silence.  Seriously, half the time I turn to a station he's on it's dead silence.  Then a sentence or two.  Then dead silence.  I guess it's easier to fill a four hour show that way.

Don't call in here.......talking about your personal problems.....I'm not going to talk about it.......we are not going to discuss you personal issues......callin' into my show......wanting to vent your personal issues........don't do that in the jungle.......I'm not going to waste my time going over your personal problems.........no one wants to hear about your (fill in the blank) issue.........you try to call in here and talk to me about your (fill in anything).........not in the jungle.........we throw you a vine (gayest thig to ever say) and you spout off about your (anything) issues.......I'm not going to waste my listeners time by going over your issues......

The above 45 minutes of the Jim Rome show was brought to you by Slingbox.....because apparently Slinbox marketing targets morons.

And Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and the New Kids sold a whole lot of albums.  Doesn't make them quality artists.  Rome's interviews are entirely comical.  Larry King is hard hitting compared to Rome.

the Beatles are probably the most successful musical artists ever.

Rome ain't the Beatles.  Journey, maybe.  Maybe.

Rome is probably the funniest regardless of his style of delivery.  And it's not like the style of delivery really affects anything about a show - like its content.  If it's not brief moments of silence on Rome's show, it's meaningless blather on another.

I don't hate human beings, but I do hate public figures and Jim Rome is very nearly at the top of that list.

Somewhere near Julia Stiles, Rosie O'Donnell, and Craig Ferguson, but I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.

Rome was better when he was getting beat up by Jim Everett and his show was about sports.  Now its about 45 year old lower-middle class guys calling in to talk about each other's mothers.

That's a good hate list...  I'd add Kevin Costner, strictly for his arrogance when there's absolutely no reason for it.  But he's not really popular anymore, Just thinking of him because I saw him on letterman last night.

What did Julia Stiles and Craig Ferguson do to upset the conservatives?

Craig Ferguson: Annoying accent... not funny on his show; does he still have a show?
Julia Stiles: I actually like her; It was more the Rosie and Ferguson that tipped the scales on my hate-O-Meter.
