I didn't know corners could have legs like that.  Looks like a LB or RB legs or something.  And now we know where he gets his speed.  No way he's still 170 but I guess that profile wt was from last spring.

He could suck at football, but just let him flex his calves and intimidate some people.  That alone is worth a scholie.

yep, and had the 3rd fastest 100 meter time among sophomores in the nation last spring.  Not running track this year.  He destroyed the 6A field in the final in a Fully Automatic Timed 10.40.

Yes, this dude is definitely faster than Newman was at this age(a lot bigger too) and no reason to believe he won't continue to get faster.

Regardless of whether or not others offer you don't turn down a kid in Kansas with that type of speed.  He's as fast as any kid out there in Florida, California, Texas, etc.  Might not play like them but maybe he will in the future.  If you're going to miss, miss on speed.

With calves like that, he might even give Chuck Norris a run for his money in a roundhouse-kicking competition.  :)

i was talking to some kids from east about T. Thomas and they were sayin the reason that he didn't run track wasn't because he wanted to "focus on football", it was because he got caught drinking and couldnt compete. that's just what i heard, and i heard a lot of other stuff.....but it's probably wise not to tell all.

I can't support the recruiting of this kid.  He is from rival sme.  AKA ku prep.

Also, wasn't there something going around about him being a qualifying risk?

Is this the first legitimate recruit out of S.M. East?  West has had a couple recently, but the other Shawnee Mission schools have been providing next to nothing.

Johnson County rivalries are funny.  Manhattan vs. Junction City, now that's a rivalry.

Olathe North vs. Lawrence used to be pretty good.  Didn't MHS hate Garden City too?

Yea that was before they split Lawrence into two high schools and O-North with O-Northwest(or something like that.)

Lawrence football was king when I was growing up.  I remember a lot resistance to adding a second high school because they were worried how it would affect the football dynasty....which it did.

That resistance pushed it back for the better part of a decade.

I was there for the first two years....year 1 one was brutal. I played at Free State, if I remember correctly, we only beat Leavonworth that year. The next year we went 6-3 I think. We beat O-North, but lost to Lawrence High and didn't make the playoffs.  Last year Free State made a great run, but just couldn't finish it.

Wasn't the end of the rivalry when Olathe North went 6A and Lawrence stayed in the EKL?
