Yeah ... those Missouri All-State, All-Metro kids typically suck.
Geezus Fatty.

fatty is trolling. He does this all the time. It's just best to ignore him.

Golddick ... I suggest you read up on D'Brickashaw Ferguson, his status as a high school recruit and where he is now.
-
Obviously Aufner is not on fatty's Missouri Top 10. Where are those state-by-state rankings?
I'll give the kid one thing without knowing anything more about him...he has an OL name.

Any HS athlete has some sort of honor. I'm sure all of Baylor's recruits are "5A district B All-State!!"
BFD. Give me stars. Give me other schools offering the kid, then I'll be impressed.
You don't fill a class with "hidden gems" which seems like we are doing. It's embarrassing. If ku was doing this I'd have a field day with them.
-
The Terrence Newman/Jordy Nelson arguments get f'ing old. There's a ton of KS kids we've given schollies too that haven't done anything. (Alsup and Anders come to mind immediately).
I'm not sure I'm agreeing with this "inside-out" recruiting, especially when tyou aren't getting the good recruits from the "inside".
-
It has nothing to do with "Kansas" kids. My beef is we have guys commiting because they have NO OTHER OPTIONS.
I'd be exstatic (sp?) if we land Reed, Lawrence, Keck, palmgreen.....but outside of Keck...those look bleak.
ku has 2 commits...BOTH were offered by KSU. Makes me sick that ku is now getting the better recruits.

The "STARS = IMMEDIATE IMPACT" argument.

Look at the recruiting rankings for the last 10 years.
Tell me if you see some sort of correlation between success and stars.

It has nothing to do with "immediate impact". It has to do with the fact that higher rated players are more likely to succeed than lower rated players. KSU fans disputing this fact is both laughable and sad at the same time.

Especially when we're trumpeting it in basketball.

As we should.

The real story in this article is completely overlooked.
On Seiler...
"He is lining up at defensive tackle for the duration of the spring so he can get acclimated. He'll play there and at defensive end, his original position, when September rolls around."
Seiler was starting at DE last year because of a lack of recruiting at that position in the last few years. They just didn't have bodies. Now they are moving Seiler in to play DT? That spells w-e-a-k-n-e-s-s at that position too.
That is what is really hurting this program. Not accepting commitment from all-state all-metro kids from KC.

That hurts us now (and it's scary as hell). Stealing 2007 recruits away from Kansas Weslyan hurts us in 3 or 4 years.

Jeff Martin pretty much says Prince and his staff are "ahead of the curve".

Uh, oh, fatty. How are you going to reconcile your love of Jeffrey Martin with your hatred of Prince's recruiting?

Really?
Do you really want to go down that road?

Don't know if it makes much of a difference but Seniors this year are from the '01 debacle year....that's also the year that the impacts from the coaching defections would've really taken hold.
-
You should load up on easy 1-stars then. Hope for some diamonds.

"Stealing 2007 recruits away from Kansas Weslyan"
Who?
-
Geezus ... if its not bad enough we've got GoldieTard on here.
The Ray-Pec kid is legit D1 the whole way. I've watched his film, and I am very impressed. He's got great footwork, already knows how to engage and lock up the defender, he gets up into hole when he's pulling from the weakside and he engages ... he doesn't try to killl the defender thus likely whiffing the whole back ... allowing his back to cut off of him.
The kid was 1st Team 5A in Missouri as a Junior.
