Rumors going around that he has no eligibility left.
wtf? How?
-
Maybe lost his eligibility playing club ball in Europe/Russia? Only thing I can think of. Unless he changed his name and had already played college ball for 4 years like that football player for Texas a few years back.
-
Since he's foreign, i'd assume its a question of him playing at a club level or semi-pro level in Russia.

Same thing happened to Cincinnati last year. They signed Hernol Hall, a highly ranked JUCO originally from Costa Rica. Evidentially before he went to JUCO he played with a national team in Costa Rica, and although he didn’t get paid anything, other members of the team did. By the NCAA’s brilliant rules, that makes him a professional too and, although he can play JUCO ball, he can’t play NCAA Div I basketball. If this rumor is true I would bet that this is indeed the case...

what about that french dude we had..wasnt something brought up about him too?

It's a non issue.

So A&M recruited and signed him, then he asked out, we got a visit and commitment from him after several other schools pursued him, we got a commitment with him at the same time we got 2 others, and you believe some rumor he has no eligibility left. Why would everything have gone this far? Why would we have chased 2 others and gotten commitments from them at the same time? Look, someone is leaving the program...likely Bennett (if his grades are OK), and likely Yearby. The staff will finish the signings, check grades of existing players, discuss options amongst themselves (likely already done), and current players (likely already done), and make an announcement within the next 2 weeks.
