Title: What type of player is better to have?

I mean, when it's all said and done, five years down the road and we look back.

Is it better to get a definite amazing one and done guy like Beasley or is it better to get a good quality player that will stay for four years and (likely) contribute heavily in all four years?

I think you have to have a solid core of 4 year players to have long term success.  Throw in one or two "one and done" guys and you have the recipe for Final Four.

Good quality four year players who quit after the first year.  (Wooly method)

I think it takes both to get to the top. Look at Syracuse a few yrs back, they had a few solid 4 year players (McNamara and Warrick) along with Melo.

UF had the almost one and done players, and four of them.  KSU would potentially be like UF if Walker and Beasley stick around for 3 years each, and a couple of the 5 star prospects for '08 come and stick around.

Mix of both.  Much better to have the cake & eat it too.
