Title: QB Situation
Post by: NorthChamps07 on May 06, 2007, 04:19:50 PM
New to the board but not my first rodeo, if you know what I mean.

I was at the spring game and I am still scratching my head on those who think CC is ready to challenge for the starting job.  No excuses for JF.  He's has to improve but we all know that he is capable of competing against the best in the Big 12. (See NU and UT)

CC was 12 of 29 (41%) and had all day to throw, most of the time.  His longest drive was what, 18 yards? Props to him for that and the 4 yard drive.  But realize it was against our second defense.  And by the way, the guys who say he's very accurate, need to explain the 41% completion rate.  I'm sure he'll improve but no way he's ready to start this year. (Think AE at NU in 2005.)

Bottomline, if JF doesn't improve his ball security, we are in going to be in for a long season. I think he actually believes he can make the plays and thus firces it.   It's good that he doesn't want to surrender, but he'll learn to limit the times he takes chances.  I've seen enough of Prince to know believe he'll coach him up. It also doesn't hurt to have JF thinking about the importance of ball security all summer.  Definitely a good thing! :ksu:

Salty is just insane.  Cannon of an arm.  Too bad we already have our catcher for the next 10 years.

I'm not so sure McCann is going to be the one that stays around . . .

I'd flip the ku/UT percentages but otherwise agree.
