Well, not only do we have A2 but take a look at that tie job. That's the way an Olineman should look.

He looks like a badass. Was he doing well this spring?

I was going to say 35, but I was scared.

He's terrible at free throws. (we pulled the hack-a-shaq on him in the playoffs in intramurals) But he's tough as a motha fu$%er! :ksu:

I've been thinking that the oline would improve every year since 04 and it hasn't. I'll believe it when I see it.

He had a solid spring and had worked his way into starting, but he missed the last week of spring practice and the spring game b/c his fiance died back in California. She had heart problems and a transplant this winter and early in April her body rejected the transplant. Our first hope has to be for him to get through that as well as possible, then if he can get back into football this summer and next fall that is just gravy IMO.
-
Is Ben Lui(?) a guard or a tackle???
-
When you look at Liu's film, you think "hmm, he could be a fine guard" but they may have to leave him at tackle just b/c we have so few options there. I think he's a little older, maybe 23?, so hopefully he arrives in great shape and ready to roll.

The o-line will improve.

If Freeman gets sacked less than 10 times at Auburn, we might win.

Scrolling along ESPN:
Auburn 49 Kansas State 77
Freeman - 48-65 683 yrds, 11 TD's, 7 INT's
Nelson - 18 recpt, 6 TD's

Me too. I was just looking for any positive sign that this could be the year. :hope:
-
It was improved last year! 2005 was rock bottom.

That would be pretty effin' sweet. It would completely ruin the year because that type of game would set horrible expectations for the rest of the year, but it'd be pretty effin' sweet from that point until our first loss.
-

I think it was improved but not nearly enough to make a real impact. Games against Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma State and half the Iowa State game were the only times that it had even that. I also think Patton and Johnson were better a little more than the Oline was improved. It looked as bad as ever in the Bowl game. We generated 3 points on offense.

Any KSU fan who thought the line was going improve from '03 to '04 was on serious dope.
-
You would think that with two O-Line coaches (mcCarty and head coach prince) that it would benefit sooner or later.
-
We are cursed.
I don't think our offensive line got any better. It would have been hard for them to between the 05-06 campaigns due to the different schemes.
This year we have more reason to believe that it will improve compared to other years. This is the second year in this system, and we have a consistent presence in JB... Hopefully...
-
Well, one thing is for sure...with Hafferty gone - we won't have as many false starts.... :dancin:
-
I'm excited about Alesana coming, but I wish Freeman would improve so the o-line improving might actually do us some good.
-
Who's to say that Freeman isn't improving. Name one point last year when he had a supporting cast as crappy as the spring game. I didn't really want to bring this up again, but we won't know if he's better or worse until we see him against Auburn.
-
Auburn will whip our asses into shape very fast
-
I am going to go out and say our O-Line will be very good this year. I am friends with one of the KStates O-linemen and I asked him about Alesena and he took a deep breath and said "he is going to be a stud." Take it for what it's worth but I have a good feeling about the line this year.
-
What's the over/under on Players that will quit the team the week after Auburn? How many Snyder players are still on the team. I'm going to say there are at least 2 &@#%ing pussies on the team that will be outed after auburn hands it to us.
-

I don't think Auburn should be the measuring stick. We're going to get killed. Now, if we beat Auburn and JF goes nuts, then by all means, the Heisman Trophy campaign should begin.

auburn is going to be a measuring stick. first game of the year against a major conference team is always a measuring stick. even if it sucks.

regardless, it will be the very first time we see him again against some one besides teamates. Surely we should be able to see i he's gotten any better at taking sacks and throwing the ball away in the face of pressure. Whiche seems to me, making decisions is all he's lacking...

according oto the new heights and weights that ksu put out there, your wet dream at left tackle is 6'4 and only 285 pounds.
and thats another sack for freeman......
-
Not hard to gain 15lbs of muscle in 6 months in a D-1 strength program. As long as he's a hard worker.
-
6'4, 300 would be ok for a center but not a tackle. oh boy. your in trouble.
that and, you don't even have a nose tackle over 300 pounds. ouch

I don't think you understand, though. Alesana Alesana. A-Squared. That means everything is times itself. So he weighs in at 9000 pounds and goes about 481'4".

O-Line should be improved
I haven't read any of this thread. But every time I see that the subject has been bumped again, I have to laugh a little.

chris patrick, 6'4", 290 lbs. first string lt in 2006.

Nice, you just saved me the trouble of looking up that info. How long until Mr. I'm Gay, etc. comes along with a line about how Patrick wasn't really first string, he was pushed into starting because of an injury? Or that they have the highest rated juco LT in the history of college football coming in the fall, and he is 6'10" and weighs just shy of five hundred pounds? I say within the next few hours he will be here trying to spin how a 290lb LT at Nebraska is all-american material (but 285 at KSU is tiny) because they won national titles and their coach came from the NFL.
-
O-Line should be improved
Going from "sh*tty" to "not as sh*tty" really isn't that much of an improvement. :kugayfight:
-
yew, cp did start due to an injured player. our lt this year is carl nicks, 6'5, 335 pounds.

you're so full of crap. dagunduro played after the first game, but patrick took his starting job.
how many games did patrick start in '06? what about '05?
what about greg austin?
seems to me the entire left side of nu's ol was south of 300 pounds for the majority of last year.
-
"you're so full of @#%$. dagunduro played after the first game, but patrick took his starting job."
so, chris patrick, the offensive tackle went over and took the starting job from the defensive tackle? I don't understand that.
"how many games did patrick start in '06? what about '05?"
whats all this patrick talk? he played all over the linge, right tackle, left tack, guard-both sides. He wasn't recruited for o-line, switched over there to help with o-line probs stemming from injury but mostly poor recruiting from solich. pat got the start last year due to an injured murtha who wasn't healthy enough to start.
what about greg austin?
what about austin? he was a guard, he was about 300 pounds and he was a physical speciman, he also didn't play last year. it isn't so much that aleasana is 300 pounds, it's that he is 6'4. noy exactly what your looking for as a protypical ot in this iffense. just look at the ot's prince is recruiting, not many 6'4 guys in that list. should tell you something

Gabriel Crews - 304
Alphonso Moran - 296 (thats the least he's weighed since birth)
Mike Abana - 6'6" 290, not that he won't be able to put on 10 pounds with a frame like that...
You're just afraid of the defense and you're trying to tell yourself that we won't be good by pointing out that Moran is 4 pounds short of 300.
Also, you don't have to tell us that our o line will suck, we already know.

dagunduro is who the husker ad sez started the first game of the year at lt. http://www.huskersnside.com//pdf7/42208.pdf?SPSID=3&SPID=22&DB_OEM_ID=100 (http://www.huskersnside.com//pdf7/42208.pdf?SPSID=3&SPID=22&DB_OEM_ID=100)
and it only shows patrick playing lt. and murhta sure was healthy enough to play from the beginning of the season onward. are you saying slashahan put an injured player on the field? hell, dude played in every game except the ccg. injured my ass.
as for playing all over the line, patrick started over a dozen games at lt. you're full of crap again.
and austin was 290. he didn't play last year? he started 8 games! that's right, the entire left side of the nu ol was south of 300 lbs for the majority of last season.
you're so f_uc_king clueless it's funny.
