His parents should both be in jail today

CSU allows fans to wander around the field during the game. No joke. Kids were playing catch and stuff behind the endzone.
-
The parents were dumb. No doubt about it. But I won't throw any stones b/c I've been a dumb parent plenty of times myself. To say they need to be in jail is a bit much. Fortunately the kid wasn't hurt.

First of all he shouldn't have been down there but I get why he was so I'll get over it second.....There's no chance in (you know where) I would have let my kid be down there without at least holding his hand if not carrying him so if we gotta get the heck up out of there we can!

Can't disagree with that. What likely happened; dad/mom got caught up watching their other kid/the game and "lost" the kid. Probably dad was "supposed to be" since he came running over. I bet mom was ticked.

We probably have an Andre Aggasi - Steffi Graf situation happening here

which is exactly where I played catch the man with the football at every high school game when I was a kid, until halftime when we took the field. Great times.

well thank god he got a sonny lubick autographed football. that makes up for everything!

"You turn your head to look on one child and here goes the other child," said Caden's mom Holly Thomas. "It happens to every parent and you don't have eyes on all sides of your head. It's the worst thing you can imagine as a parent and then you're facing it."
So its mom's fault?
If I had a major brain freeze/Spastic attack, "IF" and took my 4-year old down onto the field I would never, never, NEVER take my hands off him. Hell it sometimes scares me on the sidelines. To be on the sidelines means you have to pay very close attention to the game or you could be seriously injured. Close attention and a 4-year old do not mix. Close attention to a game and looking after a 4-year old do not mix. The parents are damn lucky the kid is'nt hurt worse. Some people should not be allowed to have kids.

You guys' kids must all be little pussies. My boy would have lowered his shoulder and decapitated that punk and then stood over him and said "This is my house! don't bring that weak ass crap in here!". Of course he's five instead of four like that kid was so maybe that is the difference.

It was a CSU promotion to entertain kids, CSU is practically a High School team now. But moreover, that kid took a NCAA type hit at the age of 5. Think that will toughen him up? He'll be an AA when he gets to college b/c he took that hit.

Baylor's prob already offered him then, or is that only their basketball team?

That kid took that hit without a helmet and only needed 30 stitches with no concussion. Forget the autographed football, give that kid a scholarship STAT!

i think we are straying away from the point here... the kid, regardless of age, got lit the &@#% up, and then cried after wards... theres no crying in football. until it is proven otherwise the kid is a crybaby, and should not be given a scholly until he has proven his worth. that kid is such a pussy.
-
yeah exactly...AND he got an autograph. Come on now
-
plus, we don't even have a 40 time for this guy... he better run a sub 4.3 to make up for his lack of toughness.
-
This new crop of Cubs is mean... I LIKE IT!

Assuming you're with your kid on the field, holding his hand, there is nothing you could have done to prevent the kid or you from getting hit. People get hit all the time on the sidelines, he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's no one's fault, it was a freak accident.
I have four kids of my own. I don't pretend to think for one minute that I can prevent them from ever getting hurt or in a situation where I can't protect them. They get hurt whether I'm there or not. That's the nature of it. You just hope it's never serious. The good news is he's OK and that's what we should be thankful for. Seriously, trying to assign "blame" to someone for it because it was a random happening is just ridiculous.
