I would SWEAR there were 25,000 to 30,000. The "official" numbers say 16, 000+. (NO WAY)Someone on GP board said the numbers are ONLY reflected by the actual tickets sold. And there were alot of freebies given. Doesn't the stupid turnstyles give a number count? Also, are the season ticket holders under the category of "free tickets"?
-
16K is WAAAY low. ADTW is a dumbass.

QFT

there were no turnstiles at the gate I entered. I guestimated around 22,000 based on the capacity of the stadium and that the lower bowl was about 70% full
-
The only AD in the nation that allows attendance to be low-balled.
-
Agree, I'd bet 25,000-30,000.
-
Wasn't there, but it "sounded" like 30,000+ on the radio. I'm gonna go with that number.
-
The carnival wasn't as effective this time.

The carnival wasn't as effective this time.
Still at least twice as effective as the circus ku held in that empty stadium.

I don't remember any ku fans touting their spring game attendance numbers. We know it sucks. But our actual game attendance is where it should be and rising.
I just think the massive dropoff for Ksu from last year is humorous. Especially after all the 'we'll have 30k+ easy' smack that I've read.

Most people were saying around 20-25,000. Sounds like that's about how many people were actually there, unlike what is being reported.
-
Again, the 16,732 was tickets sold, it didn't count the people who got in free. All season ticket holders got a free ticket for example.
"30K easy" smack, that's smack, a prediction is smack??
-
16,000 for a "big-time" football school.
-
OU got 21k.
We easily matched that.

Exactly. And like you said, it "sounded" like 30K++.

16k is the official number of attendance. Any other number is speculative.

Wisconsin had 18,020.
Iowa 19,000
USC 15,000
Michigan 5,500
BYU 16,752
Tennessee 17,409
Damn, you're a dumbass.
Goldy, there were more than 16,000 there, it's really not that hard to understand. This isn't a ku Al Bohl guess, it was over 16,000 paid, plus several more thousand at least not paid.

I just can't take your word for it.
I'll take Tim 'I offered to rename the university after Bob Huggins' Weiser's word for it.

Anything above 15K makes you big-time.

Sure, Tim got the paid attendance right. He just didn't get the unpaid attendance right.

What does he get right?
Nevertheless, I am forced to use his low road number.

I admit, it was very non ku football Saturday like, where every freebie, kid walking up in his Pop Warner jersey and getting in free, band day etc. etc. is counted in the attendance.
-
Wow... a whopping 16,000 for a spring game.
Now, if only you could cram 13,000 into that sh*thole you call Bramlage, maybe Huggins would have stuck around for another year or two.

Wow... a whopping 16,000 for a spring game.
More than double, your favorite team.

So all the people that were there were counted for attendance? Thats very thorough of ku.

KSU got 16,000 people who PAID money to watch the game.
ku got 8,000 people who watched for free.

I guess you need another lesson on how it took those HUGE basketball fans at ku FOUR years to sell out Allen Fieldhouse during Larry Brown's tenure.
Plus, at KSU it's just a matter of people not using their tickets, the money was in the bank. But, you're too big of a dumbass to understand that.
Yeah, Goldy . . . those press box guesses at ku to give to the SID, very well thought out guesses.
I remember reading the minutes of the now defunct ku athletic board a couple of years ago, when Lew couldn't tell them what the actual football attendance was at ku for a series of games.
ku Football: No winning conference seasons since 1995.

"Now, if only you could cram 13,000 into that sh*thole you call Bramlage, maybe Huggins would have stuck around for another year or two."
Actually everyone calls it Bramlage. craphole/No; Mausoleum/Yes
It's a Spring practice, I am actually happy for the people that have more to do with their lives than go and watch a terrible team scrimmage against eachother.

You like to talk about money more than anyone else I know of.

I'd call it more than a success if more than half of Manhattans population was there.
-
hey....your a douchebag
His a douchebag what?
Oh, and how can the lower bowl be 70% full when the video I saw had the east stands less than 1/3 full? Was everyone packed in the endzone seats?
-
A lot of people left halfway through. People don't realize how boring spring games are. Oh, and your joke about kstate16's grammar was absolutely retarded.
-
"Absolutely"? I was shooting for "kinda".

Whenever I need a grammar lesson I just head over to the Phog. We all realize that kstate16 is an idiot, he does too, I just don't need to read about it from you. kthxbi.

That's bull@#%$. Don't talk it unless you were there. Maybe what you saw was before the game, and all the people weren't there yet. The North endzone was empty. Not the East side. Like he said, the lower bowl was 70% full. How is it, all the friggen sqwaKSU "pretend" to know something that they don't? And ask your ku buddy flying his stinking ku flag, WHY IN THE HELL" is he at the KANSAS STATE SPRING GAME?????? Wanna fly a ku flag, he needs to go to his OWN spring game. The creep was in the BBQ cook off. What a tool.

Your second sentence should actually be three sentences.
-
Maybe what you saw was before the game, and all the people weren't there yet.
It was a video clip of yet another Freeman INT, so it was during the game. Just sayin'.

It could be written that way. But in case you didn't know.. This is an internet message board. Thus, I don't care all that much. My post still made sense while kstate16's didn't. Please head over to the basketball board and help your buddies BMW and Coolhawks on their grammar. Believe me, they need it more than anyone else.
-
You don't need two periods after your second sentence.

Subject: Spring game attencance is all screwed up.
:jerkoff:
-
Anybody hear Alabama's attendance? Amazing, incredible, unreal, sad and disturbing are all appropriate adjectives.
-
ku fans spouting off about spring game attendance?
It's like they're calling Ron Prince fat!
-
-
I bet attendence next year is horrible. Who really cares? Spring game attendence smack by anyone is lame.

And I thought talking about regular game attendance was boring as hell.

Because there is a difference between an unsold ticket and an unused ticket.
There is also a difference between 1983 and 2007. Yet, you seem to find it appropriate to date back almost 25 years in order to justify your school's poor attendance.

Here is some good data for you guys to break down.

I had no idea there were even 48,000-49,000 Texas fans that could manage to overcome their own apathy and attend the spring game.
(Insert ku fanbase apathy joke here) :blank:
