“It was the hardest decision of my life.  Whether to fulfill my commitments and promises to the K-State administration and fans that gave me a second chance after I was fired at my last position, or to go back home so I could get hammered every night with all my old drinking buddies…”

And we all know the outcome of that decision!

It's like when your girlfriend dumps you for the star of the football team. You know it's B.S. when she says that it was the "hardest decision of my life" because if it was she would have stayed with you.

Don't be bitter Catfan, she just liked my flavor.

That was an attempt at humor on my part. Sorry if I missed the target.

WVU basketball is the star of the football team?? You're confusing NIT champs with NCAA champs. Your analogy would make sense if he left us for uk or UNC but he left us for WVU.

Guy said something like leaving KSU wasn't the hardest decision of his life and didn't feel that Huggy had a tough time at all in leaving. Mentioned something along the fact that Huggins called up Arkansas to see if there was interest in him.  Ark said "No".  Thinks that it is disrepectful to do what he did.

He ripped on Manhattan in a joking kind of way..  Stated that Billy W could have gone anywhere in the country but chose to follow Huggins to "Manhattan, KS"....joked that it isn't easy to get there etc...

alright KSUHuggy tell us why he is full of it....?

Doyle mentioned Whitlock's name when referencing the Arkansas job interest....so it could be true or it couldn't.  I emailed Whitlock stating that if he wants his commentary to be credible, he should name the source that told him Huggy contacted Arkansas....

Yeah, quoting Whitlock bludgeoned his credibility.

I read conflicting stories to counter act what Doyle said.....

Martin said that his mind changed every 10 minutes (whether or not to leave).  But for the rest of us, all we have to go off of is Huggins character/reputation....   Which prior to arriving wasn't the best and probably took a hit for the decision he made..

So I am more like 70/30 in favor of leaning towards the idea of Huggins contacting Ark.   Where the hell are the hackers here!!  Can't someone crack into the KSU lines (assuming he called Ark from one of the offices) or Huggy's cell account??

I know there are people here that work @ Sprint....Why don't someone look up to see if Huggy has an account with Sprint....

Let us know..

Well based on knowing the man personally, I have a pretty good idea.

KSU with recruiting class vs. WV his alma mater and going home vs. Arkansas? I don't think so.

His cell service is Cincinnati Bell, good luck.

Huggins is a liar. We followed the guy for a year, from his crowd support hypocrisy, to his comments about about recruiting for a year off etc...

Oh, and he DID want to leave UC in 2002.

He would have &@#%ed his mother for money.  Kiss our asses.  He'd have been a Razorback if they'd have offered.

The only reason that a$$face never left UC in 2003 is because WVU never offered him the job... and maybe that's why he had his 'first' heart attack... and here's for the second one... go, go ,go ,get the job done this time...

I have no doubt he didn't turn down WVU.

It's the one-liner after one-liner.  Not that he's hilarious, but he tries and at least has a good sense of humor.

1.  The next time Musburger says something interesting, I'm going to throw a party.
2.  Musburger drinking game is the only cool thing he's done in his whole life.
3.  Boss says "shorthairs."  I don't know what that means and don't want to. - don't feel like grabbing his shorthairs.
4.  You can't believe anything you read on the internet - especially if I wrote it.

This is too long.  I already heard it live (that's superior somehow).  I liked hearing about the coaches that hate him.

I have no doubt he didn't turn down WVU.

Hadn't thought about that one.  I agree.  He isn't anything close to the misunderstood, overall great guy who has made a few mistakes that nearly all KSU fans thought he was.

he is what he is.  fans (maybe ksu fans moreso?) have some weird need to heroify (snyder, huggins) current coaches and vilify (all the football assts that left, huggins, asbury, to a slightly lesser extent wooldridge) the past coaches.  it is odd.

Aside from all of that normal stuff that just comes with the territory, pretty much all of us learned something about the type of guy that Huggins is.  It was a negative thing.  One may still think of him as a hero yet trust him less after having learned whatever this thing is, for example.

Have I mentioned that I still love Bob Stoops?

He did a whole lot for our football program and he got very little thanks and very little money.

I love Jim Leavitt too.

I also think Jack Hartman got more love than he deserved.
