FWIW, the kcstar had another article about K-State and Beasley's weekend. This time it was by Bill Reiter. (http://www.kansascity.com/105/story/71036.html)
Contrast the tone of that article with the coverage of the WSU hiring in the Eagle. (http://www.kansas.com/252/story/44899.html) The differences are quite striking.

Bill Reiter had an in-depth article on "Bob Huggins University"
about five months back that was really well done. Trapped
Huggins in a handful of lies.
A great read if anyone wants to go back to the archives, even
if you've already read it before.
BTW, I bet if ksufans wanted to ask Beasley pointed questions
about his future, Bob Huggins, etc., the Adidas people would
say yes without hesitation. And you know his mom's on board.

FYI...
The Sports Editor at the KC Star is a ku Grad.

Get used to more slanted negative coverage toward K-State, but honestly, its been that way for years. They used to use the same tone about Bill Snyder and were probably the same way back in the 80s and before.
-
I thought it was a fair story to write, and the guy was probably pissed that he was going to be given access and then Adidas pulled the rug out from under him. I just thought the tone was kind of odd and perhaps unnecessary.
But, that's just my opinion.

I liked it. Just because the WSU article was the epitomy of homerism doesn't make the KC Star article any less worthwhile or interesting. Like MomBeasy says she can't control what comes out of Lil Mike's mouth.

A couple of things:
1. I didn't think Paul's coverage of the WSU hire was in any way "homerish." But you are entitled to your opinion.
2. Holly Lawton is the Star's sports editor, but the sports section is still run by Mike Fannin.
Carry on...

THAT'S CRAP MAN!!

J-Mart,
I certainly didn't think Suellentrop's coverage was homerish, I was referring to Lutz's article. Reading Sunday's Marshall hire article juxtaposed with his Martin hire article makes today's article seem a little homerish. That's all.
-
It's a blissful beginning to a new era of Wichita State basketball. I half expected Schaus and Marshall to blow kisses after the news conference. Not at the crowd, at each other.
-
Oh.
Yeah, Bob's a bit of a homer. But I love that about him.
-
I definitely agree about Lutz, but just fyi - it's Homeric. Homerish makes me think he's like the Simpsons' patriarch, which, maybe he is - J-Mart?

don't expect the kcstar's hit parade to stop.
have you noticed how howard richman has written practically nothing the past few days, including a complete blackout on spring practices?
my guess is that he's off on special hatchet job assignment. we'll see his work by wednesday.
