Title: What if we hired Bobby Lutz from Charlotte?

He did gain Beasley's commitment with Hill on staff.  He has a credible record as a Div. 1 coach and has 5 NCAA Tournament trips.  Could we have kept everything intact?

but how would he perform in a bar fight?  probably not so great.  you have to ask the important questions.

The best way to please our critics would be to hire Turgeon.  We &@#%ed up big time.

If we hired Turgeon, then I could finally buy one of those sweet "Turgeonville" shirts all the cool frat guys at WSU were wearing.  Then I would have to kick my own ass.

Given Parish's opinion of our hire (http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/10124929).  What other examples are there of Assts turned HC with an incoming top 5-10 recruiting class & how'd they fare?


Worst hire: I'm not certain Kansas State made a mistake in promoting Frank Martin, but history suggests hiring an unproven commodity just to keep a team together doesn't typically work. Granted, Martin might be the exception, and we'll know soon enough. But there is no debating the odds are against him, and if he doesn't win with Bill Walker and Michael Beasley next season, KSU fans will want to pull a quick trigger.

It's the safe prediction.  They'll feel like jackasses in March so long as things hold together.

The data set is ridiculously small, therefore any prediction is little more than a fart in the wind.
