Title: Classic Ron Prince

Finally, we met Prince back in the locker room. After comparing the pregame Wildcat Walk to Julius Caesar crossing the Rubicon, he led us out to the field, where he talked at length about field position and shared war stories from last season.

What's the over/under on how many years it takes before the players tune Ron out?  Not that it doesn't happen in other programs, just curious about Ron.

Until it actually falls apart on the field, I have a good vibe about our football program right now.  Yeah, Prince is weird, but until we go 2-10, I will remain very optimistic about KSU's abilities to do well on the gridiron.   I like the enthusiasm of our coaching staff, it is very remindful of the 93-95 time period at KSU.  I am also not bothered in the least with Prince's desire to shake things up, it may fail completely, but I'd rather have somebody shake things up, then sit there and do nothing when  they truely feel something should be done.

Now I can import my knowledge learned from Football 101...molassess is the cadence count for snapping the ball...it means the 1st cadence is fake and the 2nd is the real one...(i don't think that's a secret if so delete this) Other teams probably have the same thing and call it something different...I was definitely loss when prince talked about the Wildcat Walk...or starved from lack of nourishment by that time...he's an interesting guy though

If you could've heard some of the comments made and every one was waiting to see Josh up close...BTW he wears boxers...I guess the players weren't expecting us to come back in b/c if they knew they might've tucked away their personals a bit better.

18 year old guys hear that women are going to be around and they immediately think of hot co-eds with tight little packages bouncing around in wet T-shirts.  The fact that you're even questioning this is making me think you should question your manhood.      :jerkoff:

After dividing the crowd of 300 into three groups, K-State research assistant Inge Jorgensen introduced Prince, who explained that the point of the clinic was for its graduates to encourage their kids to play football. Being able to one-up their husbands wouldn't hurt, he added, recalling a graduate of the August program. "She came running up to me (before a game) and said, 'Coach, I was in Football 101 and now my husband can't stand me.' "

Raising football players and annoying your spouse were common themes throughout the clinic, as Prince's coaching staff taught brief classes on offense, defense and special teams.

They should hand out syringes filled with Josh Freeman's man juice at the end of the day.

One of Jill's readers sent along this nugget regarding the quote in question:

"Did you not find it a little bit weird that Coach Prince compared the pre-game Wildcat Walk to Caesar crossing the Rubicon? You do know that the crossing of the Rubicon signaled the death of the Roman Republic and initiated a long series of events that ultimately led to the collapse of the Roman Empire (including civil war), don’t you?"

let her know that 'crossing the rubicon' is a reference to making a irrevocable commitment.  technically she's right about the eventual downfall of the empire, but i've heard that phrase used many times to simply note the making of a commitment.

still, impressive.  prince would have been pleased to hear that kind of question fired at him.

The downfall started at the Rubicon?

I guess, in a way, America's downfall began with Washington's crossing the Potomac.  If it takes as long to finish the downfall of America as it did for the Romans, we've only got about 300 years left.

Please.  Have Jill tell her reader to brush up on her Gibbon and send a book report back to Ron Prince.
