It's official (sort of).
Talked to JB's dad this morning. He has turned in his notice at work, and they are moving back to Florida.
-
well, there goes our future NBA backup center. :'(
-
I thought Benneck's dad worked out of his home and that's why he could pick up and move anywhere.
-
Damn.
-
i thought he left last year.
-
Damnit, I hate when we lose guys who can't score, rebound, run, catch, defend others at his position, listen to the coaches without whining, or accept a foul call without looking like an idiot.
But hey - at least he could block shots! And he was tall!
-
That blows. :frown:
-
This is the saddest news I have ever heard. :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:
-
It is sad, because we won't get a better player than Bennett this late in recruiting. He might have been a solid contributor by his senior year.
-
Don't shoot the messenger, fellas!
-
suxville.

I won't think negatively of Bennett for not sticking it out.
Everybody wants to bring up Bill Walker, and how Huggins
stuck the sword in his back ... I don't think anyone was
more victimized by Huggins than Bennett. He never felt
comfortable leaving Florida, it didn't seem he ever found
a home in Manhattan, nor was he probably ever going to.
It's too bad that Huggins swindled him (and his family)
into coming out here. I wish him the best.
EDIT: But hey, we'll always have "Bennett-ville"

Just another reason why Huggins is a liar and uses people for his own good.

"No no, I'm sorry, I'm very sorry...the correct answer is who gives a f*ck."

Excellent point

So since Huggins is gone, Evans probably isn't coming to KSU, and Bennett gone....who will ku fans hate? Darren Kent?

Nope, back to her.

I'm gonna have to update this.

In JMart's article today, it sounded like Evans was still a possibility. Coaches may still want him, but administration probably doesn't.

Is it true that he told Frank Martin to go "F" himself and that's why he's leaving?

His neck counted as carry-on.

I was talking to a guy that claimed to know underwood or a relative of his, and he was telling me that underwood couldn't stand bennett and said he was an idiot talked like he wouldn't be suprised if bennett left and the coaches would be happy to have the scholly. Take that fwiw 3rd hand knowledge.

Bennett Leaving Upsides:
-He's a &@#%ing doofus
-He's academically never going anywhere
-He's a baby
-He's clumsy
-Can't score
-Goes to the basket like he's 5'3''
Downsides:
-Willie loses a backup mascot
-We can't wag our fingers anymore like we did all five minutes he was in the game
-Hard to find a better replacement w/ short notice (Hard to believe, but true)
-Ball boys won't have a seven footer to give jumping high fives to.
-
JB will be a solid college player before he's finished. Hopefully he'll find a program more to his liking somewhere.

The tallest basketball player in Kansas State history remains with the program — at least for now.
Wildcats coach Frank Martin said Wednesday that he plans on keeping the lines of communication open with 7-foot-3 freshman Jason Bennett, who is considering a transfer.
“We need to sit down and revisit this,” Martin said.
Asked whether he wants to keep Bennett, all Martin would say was, “We need to continue visiting.”
Bennett’s father, Duane, recently told The Star that his son was homesick and would consider leaving the school.

Kent is the player most like a ku player, so I doubt this.

Is this like an ode to Benneck? It looks like it's in some sort of sonnet form or whatever type of poem isn't a haiku, as I know little to nothing about poems.

You realize that less than 2% of the posters here will get that reference without looking at the URL to find out who it is, right? :D

Exactly!
-
he changed games.
if we could have at least got him to quit making mistakes, even if he never found an offensive game, he would have been a valuable player.
