Sweeping the eight home games will be expected, but don’t be shocked if South Florida, Kansas State  or (gulp) Alabama pulls off an upset.

I'll take any sort of compliment we can get coming into that game!

I put our odds of beating them at about the odds we had of beating Texas last year.

Except this game is on the road.

Not sure about this, but I think beating CU on the road is slightly < beating Texas at home.  Again, I could be wrong on this.
FWIW I think the reference to the Texas game last year makes a good point.  If you have a good gameplan, a few chips fall your way, and your impact players do what they are supposed to, you can beat "superior" teams.  But who's to say that anyone is superior right now?  No team has played a down of college football yet.

I put 'em closer to my odds of winning Powerball (and I don't have a ticket).

Auburn layed ONE stinker last year...adn that was when Arkansas came to town. 10-27 loss.

If Cox is shaky, and the next guy isn't a Kenny Iron's clone...we have a shot in this one to hang with them by teh 4th quarter. Their depth worries me a bit compared to ours.

We beat UT, who was better than us, because they played poorly and we played the best game all year. They turned the ball over and we scored with it.....We'd have to do that same thing to pull it out down there.

And that's the bottom line.  Pretty much sums it up.

Auburn's a different breed than Texas.

They're completely comfortable winning close, low scoring games.  Texas is disappointed when they don't hang 35+.

i think the best thing for us to do is go down there and show the sec how to tailgate. that way even if we lose, those guys will still talk about us....

well, they had a crapty o-line, but they knew how to drink!

I'm not saying that didn't help.  I'm saying that given a good strategy, and players doing their best or better, the team that "should" win, doesn't always.  If the W-L columns were based solely on raw talent and statistics there would be no point in playing the games.

So true--Auburn is the definition of a program that loves to consistently win ugly. i'm scared to think of what their d-line will do to our o-line. we're gonna really need cox to force a few turnovers if we have a shot in this one, because i have my doubts about our offense at a hostile SEC environment in our very first game of the year.
