Report: Beasley to enter NBA draft?
Ksufans.com news services

K-State freshman Michael Beasley may declare for the NBA draft, Ksufans.com reports, citing two unnamed sources close to the Wildcats basketball program.

A news conference has been scheduled for 5 p.m. ET in Manhattan, KS, Ksufans.com reports. Beasley plans on finishing the spring semester rather than withdrawing from the university leaving the door open for his return next year.

Beasley and his family did not talk to reporters after the team banquet Monday night in Manhattan, Kansas. Martin said he expects Bealsey will make an announcement soon.

"I think he'll make a quick decision," Martin said, noting that Beasley's family would remain in town with him for another day or so. "Now it's a matter of [Beasley and his family] deciding and putting it together."

Martin said Beasley has not yet told him what he'll do.

"He's made history. No one's done what he did this year. He swept every major award as a freshman. It's a year we may not ever see again by anybody. It's remarkable," Martin said.

Beasley still has plenty of time to think about his decision. Players have until April 29 to declare for the NBA draft, which takes place June 28 in New York.

"Right now, I don't even know," the 6-foot-9 swingman, a sure bet to be one of the first players picked should he decide to go pro, said Saturday in Los Angeles when he picked up the John. R. Wooden Award.

"I'm just enjoying the moment, having fun," Beasley said Saturday. "When the time comes, I'll make the right decision."

Beasley is considered a lock to be one of the first two players chosen in the draft and a likely candidate to be the first overall pick. He averaged 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game as the Wildcats went 29-6 and reached the final four of the NCAA tournament.

Martin says he has advised Beasley to follow his heart.

"The one thing I do know he's going to do is finish school," Martin said, according to the Ksufans.com. "That's one thing I don't worry about. He's going to do that part of it."

I hope he's the #1 pick.

I'd take Beas pulling a Melo winning an NC and going third.

That would be one of the best things that could ever happen to Martin.

Yeah, I should have put more time into it.  I just took the ESPN article about Durant and changed ESPN to Ksufans.com, Durant to Beasley, etc.  Should have definately upped Beaz's stats to exceed Durants and added the championship instead of FF.  Sloppy, just sloppy.  I promise better work next time.
