"The last 24 hours have caused me to want to throw away my phone. It's just been crazy. (Huggins' resignation) came as a surprise to the world," said Beasley, who made it clear Friday morning he now plans to seek a release from his letter of intent with Kansas State.

"I hope that they let me leave. I haven't brought it to their attention yet, but hopefully I can get a release," Beasley said. "I'm not saying I'm not going to end up at Kansas State. It's just I don't want to go there and there be a coach I'm not getting along with, you know? Or I don't fit his style of play. That's not saying I'm not going to Kansas State. It's just opening up my options.

"I haven't put together a list yet because this is all coming so fast, but definitely Memphis would be one of the schools that I could end up at. Memphis plays a fast-paced game, you know, rebound and outlet. ... I just want to go somewhere where I can get on the floor and help my team win right away. I don't want to sit behind a senior."
