This morning I e-mailed a friend of mine who has taught at Miami High for the past 25 years or so and asked him his opinion on Frank getting the job. Below is his reply. This guy worked with Frank closely in the Athletic department while Frank was there. For what it is worth, I thought I would share. FWIW, getting this e-mail does make me feel better about the possibility. I have a lot of respect for the guy who sent it to me.
"I read about Huggins in this morning's paper.
Frank is a terrific coach and a very good motivator. He's a great recruiter and believes in his kids.
I would love to see Frank get such an outstanding opportunity.
If you happed to meet with him, please tell him he has (my) backing.
I would love come out there and be able to let people know that Frank Martin has the capability to take a team to the next level.
Sorry to hear about Huggins. I know it was quite a shock. Hopefully, Frank will get a chance to show his mettle."

I am not trying to win people over or say that he is my number 1 pick for the job. I really have very serious concerns about his "resume/qualifications". Trust me, if I was going to make something up it would have been a lot better than what I posted. I really expected the e-mail to say something like, "be cautious... Frank is a good guy, but that would be way out of his league". The fact that it did not, did not make me feel good about the possibility, just better.

But don't be surprised if there is a 7pm news
conference tonight with K-State hiring Martin
as Head Coach and Hill as assitant.

Nice post man, I appreciated it and took it for what its worth. As for the cubs that are shooting him down, you don't get to be sarcastic on this board until either you hit the 300 post count or the mods give you sarcasm privileges... kids these days.:rolleyes: :nahnah:
