It's his alma mater. He's going home. I can understand.
He gave us more fun and excitement in the last one year than Altman, Asbury, and Wooldridge combined for in their 16 or so.
He also gave us far more good quotes.
I love him. I wish him the best.
-
Any chance we can make an exception to the no banning rule? Please, just this once?
-
I still love Bob Huggins
Any reasons?

I kind of agree.
-
My opinion of him kind of depends on if he attempts to raid our current assistants and recruits coming in. He should at least show a little respect. I might still respect him if he does that.
-
Excitement or not, he gave us an NIT appearance. That's it.

i do too. i cant see how we are any worse off than we were prior to hiring him after having to deal with wooly's pathetic ass for my entire college life.
-
I don't know what to say. Perhaps you don't understand that this is probably the worst event thus far in Bill Walker's life. That's like saying that it's okay to kill somebody's grandmother if it makes you happy.
-
I hate you for loving Huggins

Wooly actually had set up a pretty good foundation. Huggins is going to build up and leave us in worse shape than when he found it. We will be worse off. Huggins is a prick if, for nothing else, for what he's done to those he recruited to K-State.

No, Huggins showed coaches everywhere the potential of Kansas State Basketball. There's a lot of it.
-
I didn't hate Huggins at first. I was thinking "It's gotta be a thing about him going 'home', to his family. He won't completely screw us either."
Then I heard the press conference.
Then I heard about him contact Beasley and Sutton IMMEDIATELY after leaving manhattan, and making sure he has the schollies to get them on at WVU.
He didn't just screw us by leaving, but he's trying to screw with the recruiting too.

No, Huggins showed the country that K-State is a suspect place to work and isn't a place worth staying. He also showed that he's a hell of a coach but a dick of a guy.

so in two weeks we will have worse talent than when wooly left? i disagree. since young and hoskins will almost assuredly still be here along with stewart etc i fail to see why we are worse off. even if bennett, colon and walker all leave, which i find highly unlikely, i find it hard to believe we will be worse than a wooly coached team.
-
I reiterate: &@#% Bob Huggins right in the ass.

I agree with you. As a fan, I can handle him leaving. If I were Bill Walker, I would be pissed beyond belief.
I like Bill Walker more than I like Bob Huggins. I think Walker is a very strong leader and while I hope he has a great NBA career, I think he will be a great coach.
-

I think I just read the most stupid statement you've ever made.
So you're saying that all coaches can do what Huggy did?

Both Asbury and Altman made the NCAA tournament. Huggins did nothing but got us all fired up about future promises and then left before he fulfilled any of it. Didn't do a damn thing as far as I'm concerned.

I think your second sentence will stand out a hell of a lot more than the first.

You don't think coaches and the country are going to just reiterate that Manhattan is a worthless place to be because Huggins left?

i will alwayz hate bob huggins and the world will be a better place when he dies. :twobirds: bob

Bob Huggins doesn't love you, Plaincat, so shut the &@#% up, and die like Huggins.

Awesome. He was not as bad as wooly.

So...as a fan of say, decent human beings, you're not also pissed beyond belief that Huggins totally shafted someone who idolized him and invested part of his future in him? I'm a lot less pissed about the future of KSU basketball than I am about Huggins TOTALLY shafting Bill Walker in particular.
-
He's a fraud. Everything he preaches as a coach and as a leader applies to everyone but him. WVU isn't his home, he hasn't lived there since graduating college some 30 years ago. His selfishness and inability to show any perspective other than his own paints a sad picture of a sad drunk bastard. Cheers Bob!

Yes, I feel worse for Bill Walker than I do for KSU Basketball. I hope we can hire someone that can do the same things for Bill, Mike, Jason, etc. that Huggins promised to do.
-
I do understand why huggins left...but its the WAY he left. Think about it, you graduate from KSU and you go on to coach and then the opportunity comes up and KSU wants you to coach and your family is there :blahblah: It would be hard to pass that up. But you don't go and screw that school over like he did. Weiser and Wefald were not at all happy and they were the people that were in the middle of it all with him so if there pissed then i'm pissed. He &@#%ed us over...welcome to being a ksu fan!

Its not that he left, its the way that he left. For that I give him a big :twobirds: !

Exactly. Thats what pissed me off the most. I trusted him and he did this to us. For that i show no love or remorse towards Mr.Huggs. Love is a strong word and in this case i don't know how you could feel it towards him. I do not hate him...i just do not respect what he did to us and how he did it... :twobirds:WVU and Huggs
