Title: Breaking News

The search to replace Bob Huggins as head basketball coach at Kansas State is just beginning, but a key name to follow will certainly be Dalonte Hill, a Wildcat assistant under Huggins who did much of the work in putting together a recruiting class rated the best in the nation by Rivals.com. When reached Thursday night by GoPowercat.com Hill said he would have interest in remaining at K-State.

Give him whatever he wants. Keep him here in whatever capacity he wants to stay here in.

He is the most valuable assistant coach in the country.  Pay him accordingly.

the man ripped my heart and soul out.

its easy to want to ease that pain with giving his protege's a shot.

What precedent, if any, is there for an institution to offer an entire staff or partial staff respective jobs as head coach, associate head coach, assistant, etc?  Would Martin and Hill go for an offer if the money was there?  Is there an estimate or real number on how Martin and Hill are being compensated?

Would ACDH be interested in staying if it were just in an assistant capacity? I'd have no problem with him being the HC but my first priority would be someone with HC experience. Having GRCOAT, which you would still have if you could keep ACDH, would sure make this job appealing for pretty much ANY coach in America I'd think.

How would the recruits feel if it was just Fiery Frank but no DH?

I'd love to hire them all and show just how insignificant that fat alcoholic &@#%er in WVA really is.

Not good. Pullen, Sutton and Beas are all tied to Hill.

I dont care who we have as HC as long as we keep ACDH in some capacity. That MUST be a priority.

Sounds promising for a Hill/martin combo.  Now if that would be enough for the recruits to come play for that psycho (martin) I'm not sure. :D  But seriously I want him at head coach because he scares the living sh*t out of me, and hopefully the opposing team.

Could maybe salvage Greenwalt, too.  He's important.

The Mercury is reporting KSU salaries this week, and they had Dalonte Hill making 86,000 a year. They had Huggins only making over 600k though, so that may not include various other payments that aren't covered under the base salary.

Hill, Martin, Greenwalt.  The rest can take a walk if they want.  I haven't seen much about Greenwalt on the board today, but he is a very valuable asset to this program and we should make it a priority to retain him as well.

I don't understand why we don't assume that Greenwalt will be following Huggins.

I agree that retaining Hill would be awesome...for NEXT YEAR. But after that?

Without more information about him, I view Martin/Hill (either one) as a band-aid, not an elixir.

Of course, with that being said, I don't think there's an elixir available (no, Rick f*cking Majerus is not an elixir).

No, you do not want to see anyone dead.

Huggins is more then just a tad shady.  Believe the guy wanted to stay here, up until his school called him home.  Granted he made the wrong decision and I'm sure he will realize that in time..
