Title: Ranking the Big 12 Coaches

3. Bill Callahan, Nebraska. Give him kudos for daring to change the culture in option-football mad Lincoln. It hasn't gone smoothly, but Callahan has the Huskers poised for a breakthrough. No one knows the game better than Callahan, the only Big 12 boss who has coached a Super Bowl team.

11. Ron Prince, Kansas State. He was a surprise hire who had surprising success in his debut last season. But large staff turnover after his rookie season has caused some to raise their eyebrows. And every big win he had last year was countered with a dubious loss. At least he's following through on his vow to toughen the non-league schedule.

Two things.

1) You can't take any rankings seriously that have Mark Mangino as a top 5 coach in the Big XII.  The guy's never even gone .500 in conference play, or even finished in the top half of the north division.

2) Where's the Creighton football coach on that list?

Wow, the Big 12 will take some shots nationally when people see that SN considers Bill Callahan the 3rd best coach in the conference.   I guess SN just didn't realize that BC completed the worst 3 year run of Cornhole football since the late 1950's.

Thanks CornJay fan!!

The Sporting News needs to stick to MLB.  That's the only thing they do well.  This is the same St. Louis-based paper that repeatedly chooses St. Louis as "The Best Sports City In The USA".  It's a joke of a publication.
