Sophomore quarterback Josh Freeman is noticeably more comfortable and consistent in a practice setting than he was last spring/fall.
Freshman quarterback Carson Coffman has added some mass and appears to be more physically ready to play at this level
Running back James Johnson has added approximately 10 pounds thanks to some hard work in the weight room, but it should be mentioned that fellow tailback Leon Patton also appears to be in better shape than he was a season ago.
Alesana is getting much of the attention, but center Jordan Bedore has been the most impressive linemen thus far and should be the Wildcats' leader up front.
with multiple teammates remarking that Jackson has been virtually unblockable at times.
Roland is catching the eye of everyone as a starter in the Wildcats' new scheme. The adjustment for Roland is much easier than it is for the likes of Campbell and Childs – his responsibilities haven't changed a great deal – and he seems very comfortable with his role in the Wildcats' defense

This is supposed to be good? Yikes.

Yeah, the spring practice stuff is fun to follow, but its hard to put too much stock in anything. I do enjoy gersh's practice reports, I think he has a pretty good perspective/knowledge. Most guys just throw around cliches like "so and so has good hips" or "so and so really has a motor". To take a bunch out of half-shell practices is pretty rediculous though, but for the fan it is all we have and is entertaining.

Everybody is stronger after working out. Wonderful.

I'd love to be able to watch a practice, and the spring game does show you glimpses of how good a team can be.
EX: 03 spring game showed unreal explosiveness from the offense and a mad pass rush with suspect run defense.
04 snyder said was the worst spring game he'd been around since his first one. Sloppy, no explosiveness from either side of the ball, players sleepwalked through it, it seemed.
05 little more energy from the team which was exciting because 04 had been such a disaster. It was clear the oline was suspect as the qb's were running like mad most of the time.
06 offense was not sharp, qb play was not sharp. No explosiveness from players, offense was very blah.
those are the only 4 spring games I've been too, but they have been microcosms(sp?) of the season which they were played. Could just be a coincedence or a pattern. I wish I could go this year but can't, I'll have to try and listen on the radio.

***PREMIUM INFORMATION***
After Saturdays practice, one of my friends (who happens to be an assistant coach), looked to his right and left and whispered to me "We're going bowling."

Nice to see that they are doing team building exercises. Maybe to the movies next week? What's CP's average?

So, we'll move up to the Independence Bowl this year??

I hope they go paintballing and then settle down and do puzzles at night!
