Mayo's such a wanna be but we got the real MVB - Most Valuable Beasley.
-
Beasley could do just about whatever he wanted out there. Insane.
-
It's pretty scary, the announcers couldn't stop talking about him.

I thought he was relatively quiet in the 1st half, although it was cool he opened up the scoring with the first 3 of the game. After watching the whole thing, all I can say is BEasy is A-f'n-mazing! How the hell did we get so lucky--oh yeah, the Huggins factor!
Announcers mentioned what we've been seeing for a while--that Mike looks distracted / disinterested some of the time, while "looking like an NBA all-star" other times. They agreed Huggs would get him focused 100% of the time, and then--look out.

Cole Aldrich really deserved the MVP IMO..
-
Someone is going to post the game since I was in class right? Or at least the stalker hightlights of Beasley similar to the Walker one.

Headline:
Mayo a dud in McDonald's All-American game

Another headline:
Mayo's highlight is miss at McDonald's game
Prep star headed to USC scores 12; K-State-bound Beasley leads West with 23.

Lovely. F U OJ.
-
Mayo...was a loser, will always be one. Hearing the practice reports, this was his super bowl. Beasley didn't give a crap, and was clearly the best. Wow.
-
Very true. More Mayo hate: OJ has basically peaked; Beasley will continue to get better and better.
-
No Mayo hate here, but why is he the one that gets hyped up and 90% of the coverage. Beasley wins MVP and get one sentence mentioning him. It doesn’t even say how many rebounds he got like it did for Love, who incidentally DID NOT get the MVP award. The reporters seem to decide beforehand what the story is going to be and then come hell or high water they make that the story...

Snart, you scumbag. One of those papers linked above is in Oregon and the other isn't for real news.
More Mayo hate: LOL @ jacking up 17 shots and making four
At guard, I'll pass on O.J. Mayo -- and not simply because he missed 13 of 17 shots, including a potential game-winning three-point try in the final seconds.
I'm not going to say Mayo wasn't in a rush to pass the ball. I will say he had one assist and launched nine three-pointers, four more than anybody else.

Is this "for real" news?

But that's a nice story that you linked... thanks.

ESPN gave Love and Mayo more coverage than Beasley because they have Love as 1 Mayo as 2 and then Gordon as 3. They couldn't possibly have been wrong so they had to show all Mayo and Love highlights and then casually mention who the MVP was.
-
Yeah, ESPN 150 had just moved Mayo from 5 to 3 and debuted Beasley as 8 when they finally figured out he wasn't a 5th year player after he was selected for the McD game. Kind of conspiracy-ish, but most likely a factor in their coverage.

The picture above is awesome...Any way I can get a copy? :)
