I'm pretty sure the game is on Wednesday.  The dunk contest is usually the night before, so I'm assuming it will be on tomorrow night.

BTW, Beasley and Aldrich are rooming together.  Apparently they've both been talking a lot of smack back and forth.

I wish they put Aldrich and Beasley on separate teams.  Would have been fun to watch.

if they did that, the game would be too one sided, I mean they have to put cole on b*easy's team to even out the talent.  If they took cole off his team, they'd have to give us an actual good player.

He is the best big man in the open court with the ball. Can also finish shots that none of the other bigs can finish. Strong enough to bang with anyone. Dripping with potential. Acted immature and ran his mouth throughout the practice yesterday. His teammates weren't happy about it. Today he kept his mouth shut, and it was better for all involved. He is a tremendous talent who should blossom under a hardnosed coach like Huggins.

Interview guy - "Being in AAU, you've pretty much played against all of the players, right"

Beasley - "Yea I've pretty much dunked on anybody"

---

Interview guy - "Who's the best player other than yourself"

Beasley - "Nolan Smith by far"

Eboss is saying on Phog premium that Beasley hasn't really been impressive at all during the first couple of days, and that OJ Mayo is clearly the #1 player in the country.  The good news for K-State fans is that Beasley is one of the favorites to win the dunk contest.  Eboss also said that Aldrich has been going toe-to-toe with Kevin Love (#5 overall and the #1 center in '07) and has really impressed a lot of the scouts.  He is showing the ability to hit the 15-foot jumper and is really tough defensively.

Michael Beasley- He did less talking and more playing today and that served Beasley quite well. None of the forwards are as explosive and skilled with the basketball in the open court. He has the vision to make the pass early and also the body control to make plays late. Beasley had several fantastic finishes and passes after weaving through traffic in the open court. Perhaps his best play of the practice was when he stripped the speedy Jai Lucas of the ball in the open court.

Really though, the McDonald's All American game isn't good enough for Michael Beasley.

Early reports are that OJ Mayo, Jerryd Bayless, and JJ Hickson have looked like the best players on the court.

Won't argue with that.  However, it does sounds like Mayo and Bayless are out to make a statement, while Beasley is in auto-pilot mode.  I'm curious to see how determined he will be Wednesday.  Hell he even coasted through the game at Bramlage (according to most).  Knowing his swagger and competitiveness though, if this game gets tight, Beasley will take it to the next level.

Cole Aldrich, 6’11, 250 lbs., C, Signed with Kansas

Aldrich was one of the bigger surprises on day one, seemingly converting at least 80% of the shots that he put up from the field. He boasts a soft touch inside, while also knocking down multiple 15-18 foot jump shots on the day. The Minnesota native finished some surprisingly athletic conversions inside, given his immense size.

The good reports on Aldrich aren't just coming from eboss.  Aldrich is returning to the top 10 player he was before his injuries set him back last summer.

Perhaps OJ Mayo and Jerryd Bayless are just better players?  90% of basketball is mental, and it sounds like Beasley has trouble in that aspect of the game.

Well, that 10% of talent got him the top spot.

His size and overall potential got him the top spot, according to Rivals.  He's #4 according to the RSCI formula.  Beasley is a great player, but I don't see him coming to college and dominating the same way as Kevin Durant.  He'll probably be similar to a Thaddeus Young or Brandan Wright (15 ppg, 7 rpg) which is very good for a freshman, IMO.

Do you actually believe half of the crap you post?  Jason Bennett's problem isn't just the fact that he's a terrible basketball player, but he's a complete headcase.  You're just pissed that Aldrich is out of his slump from last summer and is going toe-to-toe with the #1 center in the country.

Douche, I was talking about eboss apparently not being impressed with Beasley....conveniently must have missed this blurb:

Michael Beasley, 6’9, 240 lbs, PF, Signed with Kansas State

Beasley showed off his freakish athleticism in the three on two, two on one drills where he threw the ball off of the glass to himself for an amazing dunk over an unsuspecting teammate. He coasted a bit through some of the drills, but his remarkable skill set was on center stage on Sunday. Coach Taylor was forced to motivate Mike at times when he began to play lackadaisically, which is when the Notre Dame Prep forward started to turn it on. He hit a few NBA three pointers, put the ball on the floor well, and glided through the air like a 757 when going to the rim. While he may not have been the most productive player on the floor for his team in day one, he certainly left many in attendance drooling at the potential player he can be by the time it is all said and done.
