Bros, call me crazy (you're crazy sd!) but I think the boys in blue can get to .500 (or MORE) this season.  Dunno, maybe it's this long NE winter getting to me, but I think we get it done.  Thoughts?

Purchased a season ticket package for the first time. Right under the new bar in the outfield. Drunk.

Good question.  Did we avoid arbitration with Banny?  Hadn't heard from him yet.  I really like our top 4 starters of Greinke/Meche/Banny/Hoch.  Our middle relief is going to be utter garbage.  Shouldn't have let Nunez go imo.  Not a Farnsworth fan (getting old/paying him to much/etc.).   :users:

Opening day in Chicago will probably be Meche. Opening in KC will probably be Hochevar or Bannster  :banghead:

Cortes or Rosa will likely take up one of those spots by July.

82-80.  Wish we could have picked up a legit shortstop and put Aviles at 2nd.

The real question is who do we put at first? Aviles didn't have a bad year at all last year..then again all the plays that were extremely difficult seemed to happen in the later innings when Aviles would be moved to second and Pena would be playin short.

Butler, Gload, Jacobs, Kila, Shealey? Who do we have playin first and who do we have DHing on a regular basis? (Been debating with a couple friends about this for weeks) :chainsaw:

Butler is destined for a lifetime of DHing imo.  He just needs to hang up the glove until interleague play.  Shealy would be nice to have on first with his reach but he has been inconsistent at the plate.  Hope he can keep up his late season hitting.  I think Gload is going to be a utility player for the rest of his career.

Gotta think Jacobs gets the starts why else trade for him.
Butler DH.
Shealy, bat off the bench, late inning replacement.

Let's at least see how the first half goes until you blow up over losing Leo.

Dude is an arm injury waiting to happen.

QFT. I wasn't a big fan of the trade at first, but it was a good move. Any power Jacobs gives us at first is more than we had the past couple seasons. I wouldn't be surprised if Butler started the year in Omaha with Kila. Shealy and Jacobs would rotate DH/1B.

Who will play 2B, though? I like Callaspo more than Bloomquist as an everyday guy(Really wanted Dayton to make a push for Hudson). There were grumblings that Teahen could learn 2B during spring training. I think we're a big bat and a real 3rd starter short of being a contender this year.

huge Gload fan here folks, everytime i walk by a roulette table I yell "putting my last $25 on Gload!"

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

He is a Type A free agent, was never going to happen.
Sheets is still out there, he is much more than a 3rd starter imo.

Yep but if you're looking for talent and/or baseball skills you lose everytime.

Kinda like putting that $25 all on red or black. Except red is skill and black is grit, and the whole damn wheel is black.

Sheets would cost too much. If we couldn't afford Furcal, we can't afford Sheets. Sheets is also a type A fa. My last hope for a starter was Rich Hill, but the Orioles picked him up.

Mike Aviles = MVP

This.

Aviles was fine in the field at short last year.  Not sure why the insistence on "needing" another shortstop.

People always thought his size was an issue. They doubted his range. I think we assumed it would happen because everyone thought signing Furcal was certain.

I can't wait for the MLB season to start, I think that .500 is a possibility with this team. My mock batting order:

1) Coco Crisp CF
2) David DeJesus LF
3) José Guillén RF
4) Mike Jacobs 1B
5) Mike Aviles SS
6) Billy Butler DH
7) Alex Gordon 3B
8) Miguel Olivo C
9) Alberto Callaspo 2B

^This is a pretty good line-up with some pop, I still think that Moore should still try & make some moves before the season.
