The Royals avoided arbitration cases with two more players on Tuesday, agreeing to terms with catcher John Buck and right-handed reliever Joel Peralta just before the sides were to exchange figures.

Is there any real chance the royals are actually competitive this season?

Yeah.....Considering that they were competitive last season and are better now than they were at the end of last season.

I must have missed that competitiveness from last year.  Competitive how?  A Ron Prince football team competitive or a Frank Martin basketball team competitive?

If Coco and Mike Jacobs have decent years then we will be a force in the central. Tigers and White Sox are old. Cleveland was worse than we were last year. And who gives a frack about the Twins. I think the central is up for grabs this year, we just cant have those ten game losing streaks like we did last year.  :dancin:

It would be refreshing to have some good, quality baseball to follow.

They won 75 games last year, in the most competitive division in baseball, which (other than the steroid aided season of 2003) was the best they'd been since 2000.
