Offseason "Fire Cosh" banner to be flown opening day 2011
« on: November 27, 2010, 03:42:31 PM »
Assuming OB dips into the bag of a thousand excuses and somehow rationalizes what is destined to go down in history as one of the worst defensive football teams ever, who is in for a few sheckles to pay to have a plane tow a banner with the words "Fire Cosh" over the stadium before the first home game in 2011.

This thread is not a joke and if Cosh isn't gone by this game, the banner WILL fly.  I'll start off, I'm in for $100.

I'd chip in $20 just so when it went over I could say "I was partly responsible for that".

What does something like this cost?

It will cost between 1500 and 2000...I worked out all the details on this two years ago for the Fire Ron plane....we'll use the same outfit from Florida that did the Fire Gibbs banners for OU.  At this price point you'll get 4-6 passes over the stadium area.

They can't fly an hour before the game, or an hour after.  So, ideally you want a late starting game so that you get plenty of tailgating time in which to fly the plane.

We had the money fully raised two years ago, and the flight scheduled...then Weefs/Krause fired him.  We have heard credible rumors that we were partly responsible.

How about "RETIRE BILL," that will be more acceptable for Stormy and the like....can prolly raise the money faster that way.

Obviously we have some details to work about, but let's just collectively agree that a rough ridin' banner IS going to fly at some point.

Definitely think we would get more bang for our buck with a Retire Snyder banner.  2 birds, boys.

QB keeper with Coffman in the red zone to turn it over.  I would prefer "Fire Bill" but would settle for "retire"

Retire Bill would go over better with the shirt tucks.  We need to unite the entire fanbase to get this done.

If he's back, I'll throw in for a rough ridin' banner.  That's right, I've switched sides.

Fire Snyder or even Retire Snyder would just be a waste of $$ and would likely back-fire.

Fire Cosh actually has a chance to work.

I'm in $50 for a "Fire Cosh"
$20 for a "Fire/Retire Snyder"

Even the spring game seems too far away.  Let's just spend the money on a ton of paint and a keg and send some squawks to go paint our messages all over Vanier.

Ya, Catzacker and I discussed this point as well....much, much more palatable to the masses to blame this all on Cosh.

However, I do acknowledge the very valid argument that it's not necessarily supposed to "work" on the powertards....it's supposed to be a symbol to the non-powertards that shows that they are not alone...and a signal to Currie and Shulz that what they are probably already thinking (i.e. they inherited a pile of crap with OB and his crew) IS known by many and they will have our support when they forcibly gut OB's staff or send his ass packing.

Soooooooo, at this point I am personally in favor of "RETIRE BILL," but I recognize that we have a better chance of getting this bugger in the air if we go with "FIRE COSH."  In a way, we all get what we want if we induce Currie to command Bill to fire Cosh....'cause we know what OB will do.....

We could also do a billboard for 4 weeks in Manhattan for about the same price.

The message needs to be directed at Snyder, point plankn.

I couldn't find the Manhattan market listing on Lamar (they must not have boards in Manhattan), but a 4 week billboard in Topeka is $2500.  There are obviously many cost drivers, and we could cut some corners with the quality of the graphic (just some bold font would suffice).

I know that about a year ago, the prices in KC were about half that, with the recession and all.  I know a couple media buyers, I'll check it out.
