My little guy passed away last week at 16. He was such a character and made me chuckle every day, but he was deaf and lost his sight over the last 6 months, so it was really his time to move on. I'm just thankful we didn't have to put him down and he was able to die in my arms on his own terms at home.

Thanks guys, he was a joy. He had his own seat in our golf cart and went with me to play 5-9 holes pretty much every day after work. All of the members knew him and would always come up to pet him. I once read somewhere that a dog will only disappoint you once in their life, and that's the day they pass on. It was absolutely true for him.

We lost this adorable pup on Sunday. She was 12 years old. The best dog I'll ever have. Never needed a fence or a leash because she just wanted to be near me and the family at all times. Why didn't anyone tell me how hard this is? I mean, I knew it would be rough but I am an emotional wreck!

Really sorry, 33. It's obvious that you're hurting. There are different schools of thought on this, but I've come down on the side of get a new dog ASAP (assuming this was your only dog). Others recommend waiting, but I disagree.

Sorry, 33. Dogs are such innocent creatures, and I think that's why it hurts so much to lose them.

same. every day that goes by, is another day that a dog doesn’t have a home. they need us as much as we need them. get back on that horse and keep riding.
