Boxing Master Thread

A lotta tough guys in here, huh.  This thread is for those who are fans of punching faces (and stomachs, to win in later rounds).  Kidney shots, bitches! :bitchslap:

I've never really been able to get into boxing.  Just not all that entertaining IMO.  But unlike UFC fighters, I actually respect boxers.

BTW, Gus Johnson on the call.  Love Showtime fights!

I want to like the guy but Victor has no heart.

Wanted Amir Khan to face Floyd. Nevermind...

http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/8167550/danny-garcia-stops-favored-amir-khan-4th-round-win-wba-super-lightweight-title

Danny Garcia is a pretty good fighter, but its going to be tough staying interested in what he's doing when he just beat the only decent fighter at 140. Rematch isn't likely and if Garcia moves up weight, he will struggle.  Khan fought distracted tonight.  Left himself open to repeated lefts.

Just got done watching the DVR of the fight. Very fun fight. Glad Khan lost, don't really like him.

I really like it , but never get to watch it.  Wife is not a fan and the kids are too young.

Used to watch it a lot in college and shortly after during the Prince Naseem Hamed, Sugar Shane, and Roy Jones Jr days.  Very entertaining.   Always been bored by heavies.

Gave up on UFC a while ago.  MMA fans are a rough, smelly bunch.  I've been a boxing fan since I was a kid.  Parents had HBO so I grew up on Pernell Whitaker,Oscar De La Hoya and old Sugar Ray Leanard.  Then came the heavyweight fighters (Tyson, Holyfield, Lennox Lewis) earbiting, Don King, and fight fixing.  Lost a little bit of interest, but I still thought boxing was better than MMA.  My father in-law used to train fighters in Mexico, so now I've been pulled back in.  Doesn't hurt that we're in a renaissance of fighters, promotors and television.

Klitchko painting abstract art on the ring mat with blood. Fight stopped in round 4 because of a cut over Charrs eye.  Reminds me of his fight vs. Lennox Lewis...

55 second knockout following Klitchko fight. That's two stoppages that seemed pretty quick. Can't complain, really. I've been waiting monthsfor this next fight. Ward v. Dawson, up next!

Btw, Nick Cannon is a horrible ring announcer. He's awesome at everything else, except ring announcing. "Let's get ready to wild out!" Gmafb...
