    The very best.
Outside of Freeman, Prince is going after no one but crap. All our good HS recruits were from Snyder.

Am I wrong?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Isn't it about like recruiting has been every year, aside from stealing Freeman?

Pretty much but we should at least give him a year to try to land some HS kids.

We should finish in the Top 30-40 according to rivals...sadly, with the likes of ku, Iowa State...

You've got to be kidding me, with only two months on the job (only three weeks of that with a full staff), he kept Snyders 8 recruits and got 13 more and counting.  People are worring too much about how many stars a website gives recruits and how the class ranks with all the other schools, what we need to be worried about is how the coaches teach the recruits.  The recruiting classes shouldnt be ranked until September, when we put the recuits to work after the coaches have coached.

Yes, but that's not unusual.

This program needed players who could make a difference.  K-State has a bunch of nice players, the thing that held the Cats back was not having playmakers.  Prince wasn't going to get them from the prep ranks, if they were coming they were going to be from the JUCOs.  Has Prince got them?  I don't know.  We'll find out.  IMMEDIATELY.  The prep kids (outside of Freeman) are nothing you immediately look at and say WOW...but rankings don't matter.  Judge them after 3 years in the program.  The JUCO kids make or break this class.

The positives, from what we have seen in this class, for the future classes are...

1) Prince has showed he will make K-State more competitive with this high rankings kids.
2) He'll offer players early (something which, I believe, often penalized Snyder).
3) The coaches relate well to recruits.

Given the time on the job, I think Prince has done a very nice job.

Our recruiting isn't THAT bad.  I actually like a lot of our offensive recruiting.

It's our defensive recruiting that has me worried.  Slaughter and Hunter are nice.  Otherwise.. :ohno:

At least with defense you can use juco players a little more freely.

 :yuck:

God damnit Snyder.

I think he's done a pretty good job, at least > 50% of his recruits are contributing in a positive way.

Our DL recruiting has sucked something terrible for about 5 years now.  Everything else is just an offshoot of that problem.

And keeping the better ones in the program would help also.

Losing Moran really hasn't been a problem this year, just as expected.  I guess a legit run stopping DT sort of does matter.

The d-line and o-line recruits seem to be what we are lacking. We can't ever get the guys were in on for those positions. Is it just bad luck or what?

Was it really necessary to put Zach Kendall at C?

recruiting the elite d-linemen is what separates the men from the boys.  ksu is not competing for recruits at these positions.  it needs to change fast. and by that I mean, if they don't get any this year, I would be looking for some coaches who can get them next year.

Chris Patterson was supposed to be a stud.

This pisses me off.

Is it the system?  Just overrated?

His recruiting has been good, not great, but decent.  but some of his guys need time.

i think overall they have done well.  a no name coach with no real experience isn't going to go and attrach a ton of big names, he has done well with what he's been able to land.

We've had improvement.  Considering our recruiting during the last few years of the Snyder era, that's all we can ask for.

The improvement has been mostly in the attitudes of the players brought into the program rather than their abilities (which may actually be worse).  That will last only so long if the program continues to wallow in mediocrity.

HOLD ON! You along with me saw ALL of those recruiting videos online - we ALL had  chubbies when we watched them... they had us all fooled! What can you do? There is some talent on the field - I just dont know what is going on. I mentioned this in another post, I feel that the talent that we had coming back that we said, "Wait until next year, they will be so much better!" hasn't done crap.

Ummm ... no.  I've said all along that our recruiting has sucked ass with the exception of a very few positions.
