true george brett insider info alert that I think I've posted before:  alex was a stubborn POS who wouldn't take coaching until he realized he was going to suck and then had to.  for, like, 3 spring traingings in a row george told him how to hold his hands different or some HBBIQ thing I don't understand and alex wouldn't even try to do it.  just went out there and sucked.  then he realized he was going to suck for infinity and finally started to take coaching and now is better.  I wouldn't give Seitzer any credit for Alex realizing he was on the verge of being a loser.

well why the eff can't poopy pants get a job coaching?

Because he has a boss job already, He's basically a figure head for the royals doing no actual coaching. He shows up and drinks beer with corporate sponsors then maybe he'll stop by the clubhouse and tell gordo to shorten his swing then heads back to the bar.

Does Seitzer get any credit for the Royals being #4 in the AL in batting avg last year, and #5 this year?

Where do they rank on OBP?

Last year #5, this year #8.
Last year tied for #11 in walks, this year dead last in AL. If Seitzer gets credit for the hitting he should also get criticism for the lack of walks this year. Although you can clearly see with Billy for example that he is sacrificing walks for HRs from last year to this year. WILL TAKE.

The Royals also have the least strikeouts in the AL, by a wide margin. So there's that to consider as well.

While the Royals have had some dry spells hitting/scoring, I rarely think of offense as a major problem for this team. Especially when you are throwing a guy like Sanchez out there every 5th game.

Agree, the offense has actually been pretty good the last 30 days or so. Outside of Frenchy, Dyson, and Betencourt that is. And Betencourt has something like 24 RBI's in that span so you can't even complain too much about him. Francouer has more strikeouts than hits in that time period.

Anyone going to the All-Star festivities? I'll be going to everything although tickets in my section for Tuesday night are going for $600-1000, tempting to sell them. Gonna be hot as balls.

I'll probably just be watching on tv, unless tickets fall in my lap. And you know what...i'm going to watch every minute I can and enjoy the crap out of it.

Even though I have lived in Kansas my whole life I don't think I could ever be a Royals fan. Seems like the worst thing in the world.

Much worse. Imagine Wooly coaching K-State hoops for almost thirty years or K-State football sans LHC Bill Snyder. That's pretty much Royals baseball since the 80's.

Royals are the only team I root for to win a championship since I've been alive and I've often wondered if I'll ever get to see a k-state championship in bball or fball before I die.  I know it's much harder for k-state to win a championship, but either way I'd put my money on the royals winning another before k-state so when that's the goal, I don't see it being worse.

True. But I was 10 and barely paying attention to sports of any kind.

I'm just saying for about the last 30 years the Royals have been terrible. Probably one of the worst 3-5 franchises in baseball, and maybe in all of professional sports.

post-1985, the royals have the worst record in baseball. it's that bad. i've lost any hope in kstate fb, kstate hoops and the royals ever winning a championship in my lifetime. i think the chiefs might..but only because of the nature of the nfl.

Sanchez. But, of course, Sanchez will continue to start since DM couldn't possibly come to terms with the fact that the Melky trade didn't turn out in his favor. Just write him off as this year's Francis and hope he's gone sooner than later. If we're not bringing up Odorizzi (or hell, even if we are) why not give Doug Davis a shot? He's been solid in Omaha and couldn't possibly be worse than Sanchez.

Mair was a great guy to have around. He knew his role, never bitched or complained about playing time or being moved around. Just did his thing and cashed his check. Even if it has been in his best interest to move elsewhere. I'll miss him.
