$8.2 million is some serious face saving money. If Gundy goes for it you know he’s going to have a big chunk of it guaranteed too.

No other reason you’d turn down Florida to go for Tennessee.

Tennessee getting Gundy would really make me wonder just who would be coaching our basketball team if our fans had forced Currie to not take oscar.

Some guy who probably would not be here anymore would be my guess.

I kept pointing to Currie replacing Deb with another Big 12 head coach but y'all didn't want to listen.

That can be rationalized to fit his model, absolutely don't want to go down that rabbit hole here though

Currie preferred Schiano to Gundy, though. Tennessee is only (potentially) getting Gundy because they reacted so strongly to the Schiano hire.

Tennessee is only (potentially) getting Gundy because the University and fans are willing to overpay out the ass to save face. $8.4 million would not have been a realistic sum for a guy with one conference championship and zero playoff appearances without  this CF.

Could be an interesting domino effect that could involve K-State if Jimbo Fisher is pushed out/leaves FSU.

How do you think?

Jimbo moves on, Taggart leaves Oregon for FSU (he and Strong (lol) rumored to be top candidates), Oregon brings in new coach/staff, Leavitt unemployed?

Definitely a reach, but sounds like Jimbo leaving Tally sounds pretty likely at least.

Interesting take. I'd suspect Leavitt interviews for the HC role in that scenario.

Someone posted last week that they offered Gruden $10 million a year

On the plus side, it helps that OSU won’t be stealing some of our recruits if he goes to Tennessee.

I’d be surprised if that’s true, but regardless Gruden has a Super Bowl ring.

"Gundy thinking about it overnight":  read - Gundy's soliciting a counter offer from OSU hoping it's close enough so he doesn't have to spend the rest of his coaching years putting up with Curries crap.

If this chain of events were to happen quickly enough Oregon could try to bring back Frost too. Doubtful he’d take it but you never know

Well hopefully they contacted T Boone Clampett before he went to bed at 6pm.
