Is this the Frisbee gold thread too or do I go somewhere else for that?

You will need to find another thread for that.

@KCFDcat Had a gift certificate for one of the winners yesterday. I talked you up. This year, every participant got a pair of adidas golf shoes and they actually had size 13's there for me on the spot. It was pretty rad. I nailed 4 birdie putts yesterday for the team.  :driving:

Walked my first 18 of the year yesterday. I had a nice stretch in the middle, but it was mostly very ugly golf. However, I haven't played since August, so I'm okay with it.

That's pretty good. I'm looking for a set that will fit 6'4". Let me measure my clubs and get back to you bud.

I need to get into golf (excuse to drink maybe?).  I have a set of clubs that were gifted to me. have never swung them.  probably an incorrect length but maybe not.  I've played 2 or 3 times in the last 6 years and generally suck (bad slice).  No clubs ever fit because I'm 6'2" but have t-rex arms so I need longer than normal clubs for someone my height and have always played with short clubs borrowed from people shorter than me.

Random musings from someone that needs a hobby so I can stop overworking myself.

Thanks bud. I'm getting my clubs back from my father in law tomorrow. We Ubered home from Monday's golf tournament. I'll hit you up then. Thanks for doing that. They sound like great clubs. Just need longer clubs so we shall see.

Would assume that is the measurement for the 9-iron or a wedge, as 36.25 is the shortest club and that's the standard length for those clubs.. each club is a half inch longer beyond until the long irons are in the 40's.

Sounds like they're standard length or shorter, wacky.

found an interesting swing on youtube worth trying, called the channel lock swing. from what i gathered the differences between this and a normal swing is:

- open your stance but have your shoulders aimed at your target
- ball way back
- legs upright and stand closer to the ball
- don't let your wrists rotate on the backswing
- backswing is lower/flatter/shorter

went to the range with a bastardized version of it, and had trouble getting it all together. but near the end it clicked and hit it perfect on like my last 8 of 10 shots. did way better with it than when i tried moe norman's swing for a while.

the benefits over a normal swing is that it's supposedly much more simple and repeatable. guys who become good at it hit it dead straight/slight draw over and over, and it's impressive to watch:

Drove two greens on par fours, but hot damn you weren't kidding.  It's sad to see what great life does to golf courses but it was still a fun course despite it.
