He's got an extra year on smart and got to practice with college basketball players for a whole year, because of his illness (being half retarded).

This is racist.  You know nothing about the boy's intelligence.  Through 3 semesters, Ben is carrying a 3.92 GPA.  Better than you, I'd wager.
...

Hardest thing for KU right now isn't firing a coach, it would be finding a replacement.

I'm excited for KU basketball next season, guise. Maybe this will break their streak of one and done flops.

Yeah, McLemore was a huge bust.

He was draft eligible last year.  Two and done.

He's a one and done.  Played one year at KU as a freshman and then went pro.

def not 1 and done

could have went pro last year

Not a traditional one and done, but a one and done nonetheless.  McLemore didn't practice 1st semester last year and didn't really have the NBA on his radar.  He played himself into the #1 overall pick this year.
  He not getting draft number 1. He natural ability will get him draft high. He isn't an assertive player; so he didn't play his way into a lottery pick. He like the exact opposite of Smart.

Foster is a Parade All-American. Tucks on other board eating it up as Bruce affirmation. But WTF? Has he played enough quality AAU ball to rate that or is Parade just bathroom literature (Semi was their player of the year)?
I expect a good athlete and potentially good player but one who arrives with a lot of holes in his game.

Just curious what holes in his game you see?

To my untrained eye he looks a lot like a Cartier Martin, and of all the guys we have coming in he has my hopes up that he'll make an impact from day one.
Not like Cartier at all.
Biggest hole in his game is that he that he isn't in the greatest of shape. Parade isn't projecting performance is college it is more about what a player did in High school.

Pro Tip: Shane is not an NBA player.

Not even a pro tip, really.  Maybe should call it a Really Fucking Obvious Tip?  :dunno:

I could see Shane being one of those WTF 2nd round NBA drafts picks. He has the best combination of athleticism, length and skill since Beasley for KSU.

I can't even remember a time when there weren't at least some hints that ku had a better than K-State in football.   You'd probably have to go back to a few years in the 90's when Glen Mason was desperately trying to escape ku.

Even during the Terry Allen era some people thought he out recruited K-State.

People are crazy when they think KU has ever out recruited Bill. If your program year in and out has better players you didn't get out recruited.

Re: K-State and their 2013 post season results. Can anyone

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

K-State fans know their programs can't compete on the national level, so they overhype conference titles and pretend like they're better than they really are. Weber has destroyed their basketball program within the first year, and Snyder's getting his ass kicked on the recruiting trail by Weis. Add to that the fact that KU just signed the best player since Lebron, and well, it's easy to see why K-State fans are so butthurt right now.
At least K-State fans knew Ron Prince Hail Mary class sucked balls.

@kstatesports: Congrats to #KStateMBB incoming freshman Marcus Foster, who was one of 40 HS seniors named to 2013 PARADE All-America Boys Basketball Team.

Woolys recruiting sucked. Smoke and mirrors, recruited to many Jucos so he could never make any kind of depth. Only landed a handful of high school players that made a difference. This is another example of why the star system sucks balls.

Chet, the lone shining star of EMAW hoops.
Cofer now has an offer from us.

Jevon Thomas - He really good, only thing is he is small... like really really good. (Really explosive)
Nigel Jonhon - pretty good, only thing he is small and more of a combo then a point. (Really explosive)
Macus Foster - Solid player, big body kid. Needs to get in better shape.
Wesley Iwundu - Athletic with great length. Needs a lot of work on his jump shot, needs bulk and strength.
Neville Fincher - Good size with great athleticism for a big. Game is really raw needs to develop and face up game or post up game.

Class has potential and no glaring weakness (stuff you can't fix like athleticism). Also Jevon, Nigel, Marcus and Wesley have been highly praised for their BBIQs. They really need the SF mystery commit to qualify; class needs a buy a bucket type of scorer.

This is Bruce's rebuilding year.  He's excused for having a down year.

1) We get to see what bruce really wants to run at K-state... I don't think it is similar to what he ran at Illinois.

2) I think rebuilding years should be judged the hardest.. is their a good foundation for the program.. Is their enough potential to win big in the next couple years.

3) Recruiting is really big next year too, first year after being settled.

Doug is just as heartbroken as many of the K-State b ball faithful over this one.  He is just trying to be nice and not crush our spirits before Marshall Henderson and 12 other teams beat us this year and we don't go to the tournament.

Let's count the losses.

KU  2
OSU 2
Ole Miss  probably 1
Iowa State 2
OU             1
West Virginia  1
Some preseason tournament  1
baylor                       1
preseason bull crap   2

Thankfully the Big 12 is still down otherwise it would be worse.

From CBS: Who's ready for a breakout season in 2013-14?
Quote
Shane Southwell, 6-6, G, Kansas State -- Southwell changed K-State for the better when he moved to the power forward spot; now he will have to carry the 'Cats on offense. KSU will press and have to ramp up the tempo with their losses to graduation and transfer, and expect Southwell to be the guy on offense.

It is going to be fun to have a team the presses and that plays fast. This is why Weber is recruiting a guard heavy team.

Skilled prep post player Isaiah Manderson is collecting scholarship offers, including one from Kansas State. "I definitely wouldn't mind going to K-State," the three-star Rivals150 recruit said. "I do like Coach Frazier. He's a cool dude. I wouldn't mind going there. Location really doesn't matter to me. It's up to my AAU coach or my sister on how they feel about the situation or about any college, but I wouldn't mind going to K-State.

"If they wanted me to go to K-State, I wouldn't mind going there."
^Great stuff here

"I run the floor very well. I can shoot, knock down the midrange and my post moves are phenomenal. I'm trying to work on my left hand. I mean, I got it, but I want to get it down where my right hand is. I'm very strong and I'm a good rebounder."

He so cocky.. it is just great. Also his recruitment is going to be really weird. Hopefully one day he just wakes up and goes "Wait this is my decision".

On Wednesday, Bruce Weber said the Wildcats are close to finalizing their 2013-14 schedule. And their first trip to Sprint Center won’t come until the Big 12 Tournament.

“Part of the problem with Kansas City is, if you are going to go there you want a good game,” Weber said by phone. “What happens the year after? You have to go on the road and play a quality opponent. Next year (2014-15) we have the Maui Invitational and the Big12/SEC challenge on the road. We already have some road games and a tough tournament.

“That was part of our dilemma. We looked for maybe the possibility of some teams playing us in Kansas City without a return, but we just couldn’t find a good enough opponent. I don’t think that is going to happen.”

 Bruuuuuuuuuuce

I HATE THIS, I ALSO HATE WHEN THE MEDIA GIVES BIG TIME PROPS FOR HAVING A TOUGH SCHEDULE. They is no reason in college basketball to ever play a easy schedule. Tough schedules bring your RPI up and give you more chances at quality wins and less chances at bad losses. It is a win win win.

Watson's a good player, but UM has been getting it done in the LB recruiting the last few years.  He probably was either a contingency plan at UM or he saw early playing time at KU.  Hard to get noticed on the bench.
Rumor is he is going to be a JUCO placement.

Welp, if he qualifies its a great get
Would love to see Charlie trying to place a kid at a JUCO.
