3-star offensive lineman Robert Castaneda, a K-State commit, talks to @max_olson about the #Longhorns recruiting him: http://t.co/A97WpeGCp2
Here's a Pro Tip: UPKS in so many words has been talking about life at K-State with little to no state funding since about the 3rd minute he stepped on campus. As it stands right now, only about 20% of K-State's funding comes from the state.
K-State (like ku) is about to launch yet another massive fund raising drive and this coupled with K-State 2025 is pretty much geared towards life without state funding.
A couple of other tidbits. On top of the new college of business building, and the expansion of the engineering complex which are going to happen. Is a $75 million dollar expansion and renovation of Seaton, placed on the BOR future projects list, as well as a new residence hall.
KU is also building a new Engineering building (construction trailer already in place), and a new Business building.
It has always baffled me why two Universities in the same state, an hour and a half apart are so competitive with the same colleges. BOR isn't allowing K-State Olathe campus to start an MBA program because KU Edwards has one.
That's fucking annoying. I was just saying the other day that if KSUO offered an MBA I would probably do it. I mean I could go to KUE, but, ugh, so lame.
There is plenty of interest. Some local companies who send their employees to places like Purdue for E-MBA's said they would start sending them to K-State Olathe. Pretty frustrating for the Business school. Right now though they are concentrating on funding for the new Business building. UMKC will finish up the new Bloch School of Business this summer, and KU is in the funding phases of theirs too. So many MBA programs in the KC metro area that BOR is giving KSUO the big FU.
Some Havs talking points from up north.
1) Campaign Iowa State raised 867 million dollars. Challenge accepted. http://www.foundation.iastate.edu/s/1463/index.aspx?sid=1463&gid=1&pgid=525&cid=1499&ecid=1499&ciid=3423&crid=0
2) Oh boy, a new (singular) engineering building! Land grants will always own at engineering, even if "University ofs" get all the way to having two engineering buildings. The number of U of I grads who brag about their one Engineering Hall, while Iowa State is in double figures, is comical. Follow our lead, K-State.
3) Good luck catching up to Iowa State with buildings like this going up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fiHeIDc8-I and enrollment reaching 32,000 students.
Trees attract shrikes. What do shrikes do? They impale people on trees.Sorry if luked, but I especially like the rendering on the "Feedback" page. http://www.kstatesports.com/weststadiumcenter/feedback.html
way too many trees, crap.
It is hard to tell from the rendering whether any of the people are having difficulty walking around the trees. I do not see anyone entangled or impaled upon said trees. It does look very pretty, though.
I thought we were getting rid of light poles.
"...we can focus our attention on two premier projects - the completion of the renovation of Allen Fieldhouse, which we know is our crown jewel, and the renovation of Memorial Stadium, which we know is our hemorrhoid cushion..."
hate to "wreck" the #kliffcirclejerk here but that's a #stupid_letterYeah, Kliff is pretty popular right now, but the question remains:
Can. He. Coach? We'll find out this year. I'm skeptical.
How long before EA Sports starts using that as the nickname for BSFS?I thought that "Nightmare on No-Elms Street" was really clever.
yes very good
How long would it take to do a NEZ/Vanier/Luxury Box if it is going to take right at about 18 months or so for the West Side Castle?Probably about 18 months since they would have to work around Bill's office without disrupting his patterns.
hey, that's cool. Question: if that represents a standard bearer, why be any colors besides red, white, and blue? (My guess: because it's Oregon)Support our Troops
Put the flag on backwards. :powerespect:
The flag always runs into battle not away from it
