This may have already been covered but allegedly Tom Herman reached out to McMurphy about Meyer knowing about Zach Smith beating his wife.  The article makes some pretty big leaps but states catalyst was Urban stealing a 5 Star WR out from under UT in late April.

What makes a good act a good act?  Is it the intent or the outcome?  An age old debate for certain.

we are so lucky we haven't been confronted with a real scandal involving Snyder

I'm fairly certain I would end up believing we shouldn't have an athletics department anymore.

I have been there for years now.  It’s not so bad.

This IS very exciting!

IDEA:  Let's video the sidelines and use Machine Learning to analyze and crack their play card code.  Then, let's announce the plays BEFORE each snap via twitter. It will add a whole new level of entertainment to our fans!

They didn't use cards last year, and I knew what all the plays were going to be before they happened, and it wasn't that entertaining.  :dunno:

Excellent point.

Kansas State Football / Is Mississippi underrated
« on: August 03, 2018, 03:24:34 PM »
CBS guy thinks so....

Quote
3. No. 18 Mississippi State: I understand all the reasons to doubt Mississippi State in 2018. Dan Mullen is gone, and Mullen is the person who built this program into what it's become today. So without Mullen, it's natural to expect a drop-off.
But Dan Mullen left plenty of groceries in the cupboard for Joe Moorhead, who has been a head coach before and did an excellent job taking Penn State to a higher level once he took over its offense. The Bulldogs have 17 starters (nine on offense, eight on defense) back from a team that went 9-4 last season. It also has a schedule that's somewhat reasonable (as reasonable as any SEC West schedule can be).

This is the type of info that I’d be willing to steal my mom’s gas card to pay for.

« on: July 07, 2018, 09:17:56 PM »
I am a mixture of a several of those categories as well.  I haven't ridden much this year, I need to get back into it.  I am going lug my mountain bike up to Northern Minnesota next week and hit some trails and ride some old dirt backroads that go by loads of little lakes and ponds and crap.
I re-read this thread, do you still have that unbelievably sexy santa cruz?

I do!  That's the bike I am taking to MN later this week.

Kansas State Football / Re: Bowl Projections

What's the lowest bowl that should even be allowed to visit a K-State game and eat our prime rib, drink our fine drinky-drinks and partake in our best cheeses?

Dax brings up a good point.  We MUST STOP the free loading bowl visits by these crap bowl representatives.  Obviously Clams' plan is a go, but we cannot stop there.  We need to notify these bowls that they are not welcome in Kansas. They can watch the games on television or illegal streams just like the rest of us.  And, stepping foot in Kansas immediately triggers boycott of their bowl sponsors.  You guys know how much I love RV's, but if a Camping World Bowl representative soils our soil, I will take my business STRAIGHT to Cruise America and will not look back.

Perhaps we should start a movement BEFORE the season, informing all Non-bcs bowls that we will take offense if they invite us?  We own EMAW.COM after all.  We could us it for that. :dunno:

We accept them, BUT we don't suit up the first team.  Bowl games are an excellent opportunity for our youngsters to get additional practice time, and as such we use the extra game time to work on our second and third team depth.  Also, we do not send band, cheerleaders, or classy cats.  We advertise the alumni association ticket packages as the "Early Season Spring Game."

John Currie would clean that place up.  Can you see John Currie allowing these fraudulent boosters to keep running the show?

I don't know many of the players, and I won't really follow them outside of the World Cup, but the World Cup itself is my favorite sporting event on earth.  I love it!  It's way better than the Olympics, in terms of inspiring nations' patriotism (not necessarily a good thing, but interesting to watch), and it's definitely better than the NCAA tournament in terms of drama and high passions from the players and fans alike.

Such fantastic entertainment.

K-State sports fandom (really all “sports” fandom) is a cesspool.  Not sure why anyone assumes otherwise.  It’s an entertainment business...being a “fan” of an entertainment business is super weird.  I do it, but I too am weird.

Someone really needs to make K-State Sports Fandom Great Again

Anyone have any intel on good stuff in the Jacksonville and North Florida area.  I have a forced trip or two there coming up.

Get out of Jacksonville. Amelia Island, St. Augustine. Eat Spanish food, drink Sangria.

Amelia Island looks like fun.  I'll look into a side trip there.

The Revelation Space books by Alistair Reynolds are very good Pete. Don’t know if you’re into a lot of space stuff but I liked them a lot.

This is just a rumor, but word in Aggieville is that we have a transfer coming in who everyone calls “Yeti.” I asked my source if this transfer was fire or ice, and get this: he said “both,” hence the name yeti....keeps hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold.  Small chance it is some sort of body hair reference, but 90%+ chance it is fire and ice related.

Question:  when do we just skip to the turkey and call a rumor a fact? I bet it’s almost now.

did anyone else here about this?

I did.  However, I am not a memeber of the deaf community.  However, those who take the paper or other periodicals are undoubtably famliar.
