Here's some advice that reminded me of the V-neck discussion. Looks like Abby agrees with me.

Quote from: BLUSHING IN SAN FRANCISCO
DEAR ABBY: I have been seeing "Duane" for two months. He's kind, good-looking, successful, smart and fun. He's also apparently quite proud of his astonishingly hairy chest because he always wears his shirts unbuttoned nearly to his navel. When we're in public, you can see people react. Sometimes they point and whisper.
I gently raised the issue, but he didn't seem to think it was a big deal. I like him, but I'm embarrassed sometimes. Any thoughts?

Quote from: ABBY
DEAR BLUSHING: Yes. Your friend is suffering from overexposure. When strangers point and whisper, what they're saying is usually no compliment. Because Duane's decolletage embarrasses you, give him a choice: Button up or mow the "lawn."
What a couple of bitches.  I hope Duane threw that broad to the curb and decided to get with a REAL woman who could appreciate a REAL man.

If anyone needs advice on chest hair. I would highly recommend our guy Dlew12. I dont want to say that he has chest hair comparable to Burt Reynolds..... .....

#temo  :emawkid:

still not on board with market timing.

It's not market timing!  :shakesfist:  ( :D)

it is absolutely market timing.

(I think people were dismissing this system not just because he isn't likeable, but also because he didn't seem to know what he was talking about.)

I absolutely know what I'm talking about.  I went all OCD on this a while ago.  I'm having trouble explaining it and you guys understanding it because we don't have a common frame of reference and vocabulary.  Also the stimulus antibody response thing.  It's also text on a screen with no visual aids.  I'll add some VA, or just start a new thread on TA to prevent further mucking up this one.

You also can't seem to come up with a good link explaining it. You also seem to just be making crap up and cherry picking dates to start and end with.

I'm guessing you're talking about doing something like this?

http://www.jobenjoy.com/using-simple-moving-averages-to-time-the-market/

I imagine this is what he is talking about.... more specifically the dual 50 and 200 day moving averages. This is something that I have been very seriously considering doing with the SPY (S&P index). Essentially you are using moving averages as market indicators as to when you want to go short or long, based on the shorter term average crossing above or below the longer term.

Where I find value is that this can allow you to make money on the downswings in the market as well, or at least not lose money.

tradingview.com is a very neat website that lets you customize charts and add whatever indicators you feel are relevant. i use the 20, 50, and 200 day moving average along with a few others that have been surprisingly good predictors over the past  couple of months that I have been following it.

Edit: before someone tees off on this, I am not doing this as a retirement strategy. Just something that I find interesting and want to get a feel for on more of a macro scale before I get into more specific investments.
Edit to my edit: I am not going to use this exclusively on a specific stock pick, I just think it is very important to have a technical idea of what the stock is doing before taking a position in it.

2 things have become painfully obvious in this thread.

#1 stevedave actually works in the finance industry and has for a while.
1a. there are a couple who like to think they could work in the finance industry.

#2 this entire thread would only be one, maybe two pages if the posters referenced in 1a knew how to work google.

Has Pusha T been music discussed yet? If not, I think everyone should listen to this

Har Mar coming to Denver  There is little I love more than blasting his videos when my GF is getting home from work and pretending that is how I spent my whole day off.

I hope you take your GF. She will be in for a treat.

Absolutely she is coming.  She has no say in this.  I also enjoy telling her I am going to be Har Mar for Halloween.

Ha! Where and when are they in Denver? I never realized josh klinghoffer played guitar for them either. Would love to catch their show. Are you going to alt j at the blue bird?

Man, penny stocks are really interesting.  I negotiated a couple extra thousand per year in my starting salary, thinking that it might be fun to drop that into a penny stock such as this EPGL, just to see what happened.  Seems more like gambling (which I love), than sound investing, but I'm totally okay with that.

it's a respect's game.

options trading sounds more like what you're looking for.
Figure out the whole currency trading game and then report back. sd seems to understand finances very well, and him saying penny stocks is a respect's game speaks much louder than anything I could ever tell you. I will only say that I concur with sd.
I agree with the options trading.... trading currencies seems like a whole lot of work for almost no return as an individual investor.

Currently enjoying some O'Dell Lugene Chocolate Milk  Stout.  Tasty, especially if you like Lefthand Milk Stout.
I just moved to co !!! My real life bro recommends dogfish head 90 minute IPA as well as dales pale ale (im a noob). I think sabination and emawmeister could attest to his non pud-ness when it comes to craft beer, too.  What are some other easy to like beers for me now that I am in a new land (not ks). TIA

I think the butthurt comes from the fact that people feel that Manziel's numbers should have some sort of asterisk next to it. I completely agree that the winner is either going to be someone that puts his team in the NC, or someone with gaudy #'s. I completely accept that.
-The problem with manziel (IMO) was that he put up a lot of #'s against teams he had no reason/business doing it against.  He scored 6 touchdowns in a 48-3 win against SMU. 5 touchdowns in a 70-14 win against South Carolina State. Scored 4 touchdowns and threw for 450 yards in a 58-10 win against pig-aggie. Another 5 touchdowns in a 63-21 win against Auburn. And another 5 touchdowns in a 59-29 win against Mizzou.

- He obviously would have had an incredible season even had ATM played more conservatively in those blowout wins.
The problem I have is that they had him do stupid crap like kick an extra point for no reason in those games.

So back to the original point. Yes, I am fine with the heisman winner either being a guy that takes his team to the NC, or a guy who has incredible #'s. I am not so fine with it if those incredible #'s are due to inflated stats against overmatched teams.

I think a coach is obviously trying to gain as much attention as possible for his QB when he has said QB kick an extra point for no fucking reason. At that point, I start to question how many of those touchdowns and yards in blow out wins were because the team needed them to win, or the coach was just pumping stats his QB's way.

Either way, I am fine with Klein not getting the Heisman, as he neither put up incredible #'s or was able to take his team to the NC.

It's kind of like a "if we cant have it, then neither should they" attitude

Fanning.  Call whoevs you call at the court house and get diversion.  Will cost like double or something, but it stays off your record.

Note: May not be able to do this due to school zone.  No clue.

Another pro tip: Dont do this. refer to Pro Tip #1.

Last time I bought a car and went in to my insurance company to get coverage started on it, they did something on their computer and told me about my speeding tickets and when I got them to the day, all without me saying crap.

I would assume that either: 1. my insurance joint is much higher tech than yours, or 2. what your saying wont work

:dubious: sounds like your agent is a dick...Seeing as how fanning is a shitty driver and just totaled his car, I assume that he wont be purchasing a new car soon though. Either way, every insurance company runs MVR's from time to time, but they have no reason to run it once the policy is started. Thats why I suggested not saying anything. As far as paying double the ticket price in the hopes that it wont show up on your record that your insurance company probably wont look at again, so that you might save some money on your insurance.... I guess thats for people to decide on their own

I gotta go to court at the end of January. I need a lawyer for this one. It could hurt my insurance.

Pro Tip: Dont tell your insurance company.

I think I would find some real nice cars and drive them really fast and stuff.

Where? All the roads and highways will be littered with dead cars/people.

I dont feel that the movies are painting a very clear picture of what it would be like. I think there would be plenty of roads that are completely deserted i would be all :cheese: :driving: :drink: :driving:
