you know what sucks? the two pitchers we got for selling our minor league soul to Tampa Bay only have 5 combined wins out of 19 starts.  :flush:

Shields is victimized by shitty run support.  He has a 2.47 ERA and .096 WHIP.  It's pretty fucked up that he only has two wins.

Can you test bottled water?

Excellent question. For drinking purposes, I much prefer bottled water. For cooking purposes, I assume heating up tap water cures any problems with such water. So I'd want my bottled H2O tested.

Sure.  Most bottled water is pure but some brands have impurities, although all I can test for is hardness and chlorine.  Ozarka is basically untreated spring water.

Get a new job, I bet tubby's is hiring.

Already have a second job, I umpire baseball.  I've umped games with ADJC in the stands watching his son.

Does ADJC heckle the umps? If so, is it legitimate commentary, or vicious garbage that has no place in youth league baseball?

No.  Parents and coaches for his kid's team don't heckle umpires because they're pretty elite for a bunch of 12 year olds.  They win via mercy rule more often than not.  No need to bitch about a call you didn't like if you're winning 11-0 in the 3rd inning.  In between games the other night I overheard him chatting with a few tuck parents about the Boozecats baseball title (no, he didn't say Boozecats).

you can come by Yuma street on Tuesday sometime if you want

what are you testing for?  lead, chlorine residuals, cocaine, ???

Hardness and chlorine, but there is worse stuff in your tap water.  There are laws against us telling people exactly what, though.  Government thinks it's a scare tactic for a company to tell people what the city hasn't taken out of your water.

Hey guys, Shacks here.  I just got a new job as a water tester and I'm paid based on how many water tests I do.  The company provides me with appointments, but many of them are in Topeka or other places that kill me on gas.  I get some in/around Manhattan, but not enough.  That's where my friends on goEMAW can help.  If you can set up a time for me to come to your house and test your water so you can see just how gross it is and what can be done to improve it, I'd be really grateful.  The test is completely free - no strings attached, no purchase necessary.  You won't be added to any telemarketing or mailing lists.

Now, you might be thinking "What's in it for me?"  If the good feeling of helping someone isn't enough, I can offer rewards to the first two people who set up appointments with me.  I have two vouchers.  One is good for a free three day/two night stay at one of many vacation destinations (hotel only, use your credit card miles to pay for the plane tickets).  It is valid at many domestic and a few international places (resort parts of Mexico, Dominican Republic).  The other voucher is good for a lot of grocery discounts.

I'm trying to save up enough to afford tuition at the Kansas State University next semester.  I already have more student debt than I want so I really want to avoid more loans and my family makes just enough to put us over the threshold for guvment aid without making enough to help pay for school.

Only requirements are that you own your home and you live in Manhattan or Junction City or one of the small towns near Manhattan.  PM me if you have any questions or if you want to take a quick weekend getaway trip courtesy of Shacks.

I guess in hindsight it's not surprising that the traumatic event thread would turn into a bunch of borderline molestation accounts.  Getting molested is typically quite traumatic.

This isn't traumatic for me, but my girlfriend's best friend's dad was just arrested on several counts of possession and distribution of child pornography.  They're a little freaked out.

HOLY eff MIKE TROUT CRUSHED THAT

As an Angels fan, it feels so good to have Mike Trout on my team.   him so much (Trumbo too).  It's really exciting to cheer for a guy who is going to be the face of baseball for the next decade.  If anyone ever hits .400 again, it will be Trout.  Not saying it will happen, but if it does, Trout will do it.

Also, didn't know Physioc hated people who run onto the field.  Usually one of the most memorable moments of any game.

Phys certainly knew all the penalties for running on. Can't decide whether it's scripted, or he knew them from personal experience.  :dunno:

You call that many baseball games and you see a lot of streakers run onto the field.  Maybe it gets old after the 20th time.

Royals still have a chance in this one, looking like the Angels bullpen has decided to make it interesting.

Somebody needs to tweet him the history of the CTR and ask if he wants to be on the winning or losing side of it

Just Texans being arrogant pricks, nothing new there

Harbaugh almost took a job at K-State after we fired Prince.

It will still be waiting for him after :bill: retires.  Hopefully Harbaugh will have won a Super Bowl by then so he can leave the Niners and conquer the last achievement left for him in the world of football: proving that Kansas State football can be successful without Bill.

Today is a wonderful day for the jeagles

Will you talk in a funny voice on my voicemail message?

Personalized voicemail message on your phone by :bill: would be a great addition to our AD's fundraiser auction

Weis couldn't win with legitimately elite talent/recruiting classes at Notre Dame, don't know why anyone expects him to with KU's classes.  Not predicting another 1-11 season for KU, but come on - he couldn't succeed when he was getting nothing but **** and ***** guys, so the "We have better classes" talking point doesn't really translate to wins.

Love Bill, but he would manage to give really boring Bill answers to all of these (unless we're going under the assumption he must answer honestly and interestingly)

"Well I don't think I've ever had a bust.  If one of my players doesn't reach his full potential both as a football player and a young man that falls on the shoulders of myself and the rest of the coaching staff.  It's our job to teach them so if they don't improve enough to contribute to the team we deserve the blame."

I know the series has been discussed at length in this thread, so I apologize, but I have a Mass Effect question. Can I start with 2 and still have a good experience or do I need to play the first?

You should start with the first game.  Pretend it ends after the second one though.  ME1 and ME3 are good games but ME3 is really shitty and the trilogy has a horrible ending.

I'd like to keep this out of the Pit but how can those who have some faithful belief in a loving god explain this.  This was literally an "act of god"

Not a car accident or a deranged gun man.  It was a huge death storm that descended from the clouds and killed twenty little kids at school.  No human elements at all.   No free choice or human decisions.  Just suffering.

it was the devil or god trying to teach us something, duh

God is pummeling the Bible Belt with tornadoes to punish us for allowing the sodomite homosexuals to defile the sacred institution of marriage :runaway:

Screw the trees!

Ok, I am all for nice landscaping with native Kansas grasses and such though!!!!!

Some big bluestem and indian grass would look nice.  And what better way to start the spring game than a controlled burn of the landscaping?

Is there a chemical we could put on the grasses that would make the flame purple when we burn them? If so, let's do it.

Would be baller AF

NBAF can probably make us a chemical like this

Do not want Arkansas.

Playing them would hurt the image of our baseball program

"We speak English" rants with run ons, missing punctuation and a lack of capitalization are just the best

The absurdly long layoff between the end of the season and the start of bowl season hurts teams that run unconventional offenses and benefits teams with elite defenses.  Preparing for KSU and our offense over one week is a lot different than preparing for KSU and our offense over one month.  But that's not an excuse for the Fiesta Bowl - Oregon also runs an unusual offense, and they're equally disadvantaged by the long layoff.  Our defense did pretty good against their offense largely because we had a month to study it.  They just had more than enough speed on defense to shut us down, and the long practice time guaranteed their coaches had enough time to show them every single look and wrinkle in our offense so they were disciplined and prepared for anything we threw at them.  Didn't help that Klein had spaghetti brains or that for some stupid fucking reason Sean decided to kick off to DeAnthony Thomas.

The off time definitely hurt us against Pig Aggie, though.  Their offense wasn't anything special to prepare for but our offense was the first of its kind that Pig Aggie had seen all season, so the long practice time was beneficial for them and detrimental for us.
