We just booked a room in SATX. Gonna drive down from Dallas area that morning and back the next day probably.

My assumption is that ticket prices will plummet closer to gametime.

i wouldn't call it an invasion. When i get an email and phone call saying there are still "plenty of great seats" left in the K-State allotment there probably won't be a crazy amount of purple down there.

We'll have a good crowd... always do. Everybody said we'd have a crap crowd in Tempe last year, but the place was full of purple. Plus, there's a crap-ton of K-State alums that live in Texas so its an easy trip.

I think a lot of K-State people are like me and have figured out that you can get far better seats at better prices on the secondary market as well. Looks like the Alamo allots a hell of a lot more seats for each team than other bowls do also.

Based on where they're selling the K-State allotment, I'd think you'd want to be on the "Big 12 Side" which would be sections 132-136

Basically, San Antonio is the "riverwalk". There's loads of bars/restaurants up and down the river. Good food, pricey drinks and great people watching. Here's what comes to mind first:

The boat tour is cool... And, that mexican restaurant with the umbrellas is amazingly good: http://www.casa-rio.com/

this thing is pretty popular.

If ya like golf, La Cantera is a really nice place to play that allows public access.

There are better tickets for less$$ on the UCLA side... I'm really not worried about sitting around UCLA alums... They probably smell pretty good. Thoughts?

Since UT isn't playing in this game, all the local t-shirt longhorn fans won't sell this game out. It will be just like every other exhibition bowl game and ticket prices will plummet between Christmas day and kick-off.
