I have never understood how DePaul is so bad at basketball when they're surrounded by so much talent in Chicago.

So true, DePaul hasn't had a coach that could keep kids home since Ray Meyer in the 80's. Kentucky, Duke or KU get the best ones now.
1997-98 Conf. Champ team @ ILL, Kruger's roster had 14 of 16 in-state kids. That was amazing.

They rehired Leitao. He's the only one to have any kind of success there the last 25 years so maybe it's a good fit

Interesting. Coaching searches are a lot different than they used to be. I imagine most people were scared shitless of DePaul. Leitao probably won't last more than 4 seasons.

Shaka at Texas is NOT what I wanted.  He is likable, and I do not want to see KU fans spew their hatred at him...I would have enjoyed Marshall being on the receiving end of that.
