Can confirm there is no fire damage just water and smoke damage.

They have tuition, too, and that doesn't stop them from asking money for every other general expense they have.

rebuilding a fire damaged library doesn’t fall into that category

Schools only make profit off of donations by the end of the day. They put so much of it into different types of projects, that it's whatever that's leftover by the end of the year.

by "that category" i assume you mean "tuition" and not "insurance."  i would think rebuilding a fire damaged library is exactly the kind of thing that would fall into the "insurance" category.

The only way they stay out of the red is by donation, does that make more sense? Profit was not the right terminology.

yes it’s covered by insurance.  I was referring to the post above mine mentioning general expenses which this isn’t one

if someone calls me asking for hale money i’m going to flip them the double eagles

We shall see. There were lots of things in there that may not have been insured. Insuring a library on a college campus containing books, academic files, technology purchases by different departments, servers, etc. isn't like insuring a home.

They lost pretty much all of the servers that store information for academic departments on campus. Will they be able to recover files off the servers? Unclear at this point and just the lost man hours on that boondoggle are enormous. I don't have the exact specifications for the full extent, but people are scrambling to find the last backed up/emailed version of grant paperwork, seeing what they have backed up for their curriculum materials, etc.

meh, if you didn't have the grant paperwork insured no $$ I can give will bring it back.

I am sure Myers has the mother of all USAA policies anyway

So can we assume that K-State did not have GeoDiverse and/or cloud based disaster recovery?

If so, shame . . . shame . . . shame . . . shame . . .

Sure, but the impact of this fire is far beyond the physical damage.

I also am a bit worried as the first floor renno was $5 million and they had not finished fundraising and now damages are being quoted at as much as $50 million.

We can very safely assume that dax.
