Yeah, I saw the post over the weekend where the lady was being held hostage in jail and people were all calling the PD and stuff. But what actually happened in the video? Did he make her sit in the front seat of the patrol car?

also haven't watched the video, but i've read enough to know that the policer officer behaved properly in the video and that it doesn't support any of her allegations of mistreatment. also she wasn't arrested for a dui. she tested below the legal limit and was not charged with anything, but the officer held her anyways as a "courtesy" because he judged that her driving was impaired, which apparently is something that police can legally do.

So he detained her and took her to jail and held her there even though she wasn't charged with anything and was not over the legal limit on alcohol and did not fail a field sobriety test?

Thanks for the recap. I was told you can still get a DUI for even blowing .02. Did she blow zeros? Maybe she was high? Maybe nothing?

that is my understanding, yes. like that mayberry police dude locking up the town drunk to sleep it off. although i think i misspoke in my first response. she was arrested, but was not charged.

Don't they have to have something to arrest you for? Even if you aren't formally charged with something?
