yes. put it out of it's misery. re: QT- do we really think they are coming? also the daras/mini mart whatever on the corner of 11th and laramie? anyone heard what's going in there or why that closed?
I really think they are coming  :crossfingers: (honestly)
and the guy tried to bump there rent significantly, he said ok we aren't paying that proceeded to move crap out they called him back a few weeks later and said ok we want you back and you can pay what you had been.. nah, sorry.
wouldn't be surprised if he changes his mind eventually
Oh forgot about this thread and that I went home this weekend and was told by the barbers next door what is going on. Apparently, AJ's Pizza is moving their Aggieville location into the old Dara's, and AJ's old (current) Aggieville location is becoming a Jeff's Pizza. I guess it is some Nebraska pizza chain.  :dunno: Maybe luked.

EDIT: After a quick google search it looks like this is the place they were talking about. Looks like it's from Iowa, so probably gross. Havs?

never heard of this place, will eat there this week and report

Guys it was pretty good. I had the 10" supreme.I thought the pizza was very good and I'm pretty picky about pizza. Outside of their 10" specialty pizzas, their prices are phenomenal. I didn't get it but they had signs in their napkin holders on all the tables that said "$10 bucket of 5 bottles of beer every day, all brands." They do have a great selection of bottled beer including Leines. They also have four pretty good meal deals for $5.50. Anyway the pizza was great and I definitely will have it again soon, I hope they do well in Aggieville.

I can report that the Dancing Geisha was pretty good.  Average meal runs from $12 - $16.  I had a chicken korma ant it was really good.  It came with a dish of rice.  When I first saw the food, I thought I was going to leave hungry, but by the end of the meal I realized I shouldn't have finished it all.  My one complaint regarding the food is that it felt like a pretty limited menu to me.  I'm not familiar with Indian food, so maybe that is the norm.

Now the wait staff was running around kinda clueless, but it was the first night.  They were very nice, but it seemed like maybe they hired people who have never been servers before.  The messed up my ticket with someone else's and had some prices on the ticket, different than the menu listed price.  So make sure you check your ticket to ensure that this was a 1 time accident.

I was also warned about how spicy the food would be.  When I ordered a beer ($2 Shiner Bock) the waitress told me I would defiantly need a water with my meal because of the spice.  I can report that I did not need a water.  I would have taken my food quite a bit hotter.  They talked me out of the hot and into the medium.  I would say if you're a person who enjoys spicy food, don't let them sway you like they did me.

Other than Shiner I thought the drinks were a bit expensive.  They run $7 for a tall very skinny glass.  I ordered an Indian spin on a bloody mary.  It did not disappoint.  I didn't really taste any liquor in the drink, but the spices they used it might have been masking the vodka.

Overall I really thought it was a neat place.  I'm sure when things get running normal and the wait staff calms down a bit, it will be a neat restaurant.

Here is the menu.  I got these pictures from their fb.

yeah, most Indian places I've been to have a pretty large menu. that is the smallest I've seen. nice (but small) beer list.

I was pleasantly surprised with how good Dancing Ganesha is already after only being open for 2 days. The interior was nicer than other Indian restaurants that I have been to. Tried the 3 chicken dishes and all were very tasty, especially the chicken makani. The surprise of the night was the gobi manchurian appetizer. It was one of the best things I have eaten at any Indian restaurant. Also, the chili pakorasi were very good too. The wait staff def seemed a little clueless but it didn't take away from the experience.

We also got to speak with the owner and found out that the current menu is just to get them started and will probably be added to within the next few months once they get everything streamlined. She mentioned some very delicious sounding dishes that they were considering. Also, their lunch specials sound awesome and I will have to go and try that very soon. All in all, very happy with the new addition to Aggieville and Manhattan.

Gulab Jamoon would make for an excellent screen name. Might have to take it to that one name change thread.

Alright, one more update on Dancing Ganesha. Tried the lunch specials today. $9 for your choice of chicken tiklka masala, lamb vindaloo, or veggie masala. Comes with a heap of rice, beans, tandoori chicken or a slaw (depending on whether you got the vegetarian dish or not), 2 slices of naan, and some sort of dessert. Today was a jelly kind of thing made from dates, cashews, wheat, and some mixture of spices. It was surprisingly good esp. on the naan. Everything was very good and fresh. Meals came out quickly. This place is going to be awesome.

I am curious to see if it is possible to be successful as both and Indian Cuisine Restaurant AND a nightlife nightclub bar.

is it possible to party gronk and dance and pick up ladies/dudes while surrounded by and exuding the notably potent fragrances of indian food? Time. Will. Tell.

i can't wait to see the thread on here twenty years from now when people say that dancing ganesha is just an ok place to drink and that "insert new indian fast food chain" has much better food and bigger portion size.
