he's been slowing cooling off over the last week or so, it seems. hopefully his upcoming slump doesn't last long.

do you mean because he uses a lot of pitches? because it's weird how perception works. medlen gives up 3 runs in 6 innings and people rave. dick duffy does the same (or better), and you have wc08 comparing him to guthrie.

and it's not like the hitters are getting harder contact on dick duffy, or even more baserunners. the difference is basically just pitch count.

oh i am happy with his performance. i am strictly talking about pitch count. he labors through innings (even good ones) more often than not.

medlen seems to blister along. when he gives up runs it seems to usually be the long ball or a surprise attack or something.

Fair breakdown. Duffy has just pissed me off lately. I obviously know his upside is better.

I really like watching and listening to Royals' broadcasts.

The Duffy and Medlen competition for the 4th playoff spot should be fun in September.
