Get a look at this oversized kid whose dad let him keep his shoes on in the bounce house and was just knocking over lil royals left and right. Cardinal family.

Also, it was minion night. We had no idea what a minion was but it's a stuffed animal guy partying around so we did it.

As you should have. Also lots of fun to mention out loud (just loud enough for someone to overhear clearly) how close you were to breaking into pro ball.  Merciless criticisms of players on minor technical stuff (valid or not who cares) is super fun.

Don't have pictures to go with it, but was driving through Arkansas and decided to stop in and catch a Naturals game tonight so here's a review of that.

-It was faith and family night so they had some band planning in the outfield when we got there that I pretty much tuned out.

-Ate at some BBQ place. Ordered a brisket plate. Potatoe salad was ok, beans where bland, brisket was way too fatty. Had to chew it for like 10 minutes. Also had nothing to eat it with but a plastic fork. Would not recommend

-Had a beer place that the sign said it was craft and imports. Was mostly canned imports. Did have a decent local red rye on tap.

-Had tickets a couple rows behind the home dugout, great seats.

-Their mascots are a Sasquatch named Strike and a river monster named Sinker. Where very strange and I don't know that I saw them at all after the crappy videos and introductions they entered to.

-Ramon Torres and Raul Mondesi started the game with back to back homers :excited:

-The other team's defense was horrible. Only one error but 5 or 6 plays a better fielder would have made. Naturals scored 8 runs and the 2 HRs where about the only ones that weren't aided somehow by bad defense.

-Didn't really have much of an opportunity to see the Naturals defensive quality. Very few balls not hit right at someone. 3B made a couple nice plays but he was also celebrating his 27th birthday. Mondesi failed to snag a grounder he probably should have but doubt he'd have gotten the runner anyway. Almost defensive play of the game came at the end of the game with the Naturals up big. Torres was playing very deep at 2nd and he ran down a grounder over halfway to the RF fence and nearly threw the guy out at 1st. It was impressive range.

-After the game they did a chuck a ball thing with a bucket on the pitchers mound. Some kid (guessing about 10-12 yo) whose dad had an EMAW hat, after nearly hitting the bucket once, launched an impressive bullet of a throw that bounced just in front of the mound and 1 hopped into the bucket winning him a $100 gift certificate to some clothing place

This is my favorite minor league stadium, Hadlock Stadium, home of the Portland Seadogs.

Yep that's a green monster, same height as the green monster at Fenway Park but not as long. Because of the enormous number of tourists that go to Maine each summer they essentially sell out every game.

They have a lighthouse in centerfield that comes up from behind the wall, like the old big apple in Shea Stadium, and shoots fireworks out of it when the Seadogs hit a homerun.

If you're interested in seeing former Shocker, Royal, and Red Sox, Tommy Hottovy give the most boring 3min30sec Cribs parody ever here's one of Hadlock Field.

Durham Bull Stadium is pretty sweet. It was nicer than the K prior to the makeover. If I can find some pics of the kids with Wool E. Bull, I'll post them.

Portland Seadogs!  I was a huge fan for about a year in junior high after my parents bought me a tshirt while on a New England vacation.

I have tickets to the Salt Lake v Omaha game tonight.  Will try to take pics and report back.

Welcome to Smith's Ballpark, home of the Salt Lake Bees (Angels AAA).  Smith's is the Kroger affiliate in the region founded by the nephew of, you guessed it, the Joseph Smith. Nice stadium in an odd area a mile or two south of downtown.  There's a kiddy train in the outfield with a line that takes two full innings to get through.  Wide variety of concessions but all kinda meh.  Did see some loaded 'chos that I regret not trying.  Also a big wall in center that has no obvious purpose.  The setting tho... Wow!

If the wall without obvious purpose is in dead center field in the pic, it's the hitters' background. From the pics and description, the park looks like a decent place to watch a game.  :)
