going to my first NHL game this coming week. philadelphia v. DC. great seats like by the glass deal looking at the goalie. like 10 yard line equivalent. know nothing about hockey or whatever. pretty pumped.

the guys I'm going with tell me the teams hate each other and will fight the entire time. so that seems more interesting than like ice soccer which I imagined it to be.

and they were telling me about hockey drunk fans and I told them I'd be drunk too and they would like dead eye look at me and say stuff like, "you don't understand HOCKEY drunk fans". pretty excited.

Yeah, the game is nationally broadcast on a series called "Wednesday Night Rivalry." Philly fan is a special kind of hockey fan. They actually caused their team to get a penalty when they played Washington in the playoffs last year by throwing these bracelets on the ice that were used as a tribute to their recently deceased owner. It was WTF but "of course they did that" all at the same time.

yeah, it was cool. I don't really know how to follow the game or anything. but it was a fun atmosphere. and I drank a ton of labett blue talls with a flyers logo on them. did you know you're not supposed to walk up and down the aisles until there is a stoppage in play? I did not.
